2010 ram 1500 MDS

Is there a way to turn the MDS off.

i believe the only way to do it is through a tuner (diablo, superchips, etc.)

Yep.You must have a tuner as mentioned. You can also drive in tow/haul mode. This will disable the MDS, delay the 2-3 and 3-4 shift as well as lock out 5th gear.
