Default Went to the Track

Truck - 2011 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Sport
5.7L Hemi (K&N intake, DODM14 Exhaust muffler)
3.55 Rear end open diff
Traction Control OFF
Less then 15Liters Of gas in the tank (4 Gallons)
Cool night at 13*C or roughly 57*F
Stock Goodyear Tires 275/60R/20
BEST RUN WAS
R/T ... 0.701
60' ... 2.593
330 ... 6.832
1/8 ... 10.337
MPH... 70.62
1000.. 13.302
1/4 ... 15.782
MPH ... 90.09

Overall I wasnt very happy with my times as I have seen others post much better results. I did not pre load it as I have heard it detunes the
engine so I went with the mash the peddle approach. I got two runs in
at the track and both times were within 0.001 of each other ( Other run was ( 15.783)
Im wondering are my 3.55 Gears really hurting that much ?
She feels slower off the line but towards the end picks up signifigantly
Friend with 6.0L Vortech max was doing 15.2's at 90MPH so same trap
speed but half a second quicker ( He has only Superchips tune 3.73Gears)
My old 4.7L Reg Cab with 4.56Gears few more mods ran almost exactly
the same times all the way to 1000feet. ( 4.7 was 16.323 in the 1/4)
Any suggestions or worth while mods to bring the times down ?

You already put your finger on the problem
GEARS-GEARS-GEARS!!!! 3.9's at least or maybe 4.1's or even 4.5's if you going to run a lot.

Yes you def need lower gears. First off ur friend with the chev has a better geared tranny and ur old truck had 4.56 gears. Borrow a set of 27 or 28" tall wheels and go back to the track to try it out. You'll see a huge difference. Those tire heights would be equivlent to 4.30+ gears, 27" would bring you closer to 4.56. This would be your cheapest way out to finding the correct gear of your choice.

Big Heavy crew cab 4x4 with 3.55's, dont be too hard on yourself thats not a bad time in my opinion. Yes, the new Hemi demands the 3.92's, I drove several with 3.55's and there is a big difference.

355's are still okay once you are moving when I mash it at around 20mph or so I get a chirp and get put back into the seat. Out of the hole, I am not gonna try to race anyone, don't wanna get burned by some front wheel drive car.

I have the factory 33" tires so I was thinking somewhat of a balance
around a 4.10 ratio with 31.5" Tires (275/55R/20) should help out but
not have me revving at 3000rpm at 70mph (my old truck )
Should put me somewhere around 4.30 Final ratio
Like I was saying near the top end it hauls *** no problem but getting it
off the line was something else. 2.6second 60foot times is way to slow.

Also would an aftermarket torque convertor help out signifigantly ?
I know the driveline loss on these is huge..
Any recommendations >?

Remember that unless you can do it yourself, changing the front and rear gears(4x4) is going to cost you app. 2k including labor. I'd try the gears before I tried the converter. After you change the gears you might have to go with some sort of drag radial to get off the line without burning up on the line. Also your trying to move about 5k lbs of truck down the track. Unless you do some engine work(heads, cam etc) or add a puffer you are going to probably run low 14's at best. IMHO

With the 33" tires you have, you need 4.56's.

For the gears I have a friend working at a dodge stealership who will
do cash jobs for me on the side so the set installed will run me around
$1400. But im not looking for low 14's I dont think 4.10's or even 4.56''s
will shave off a second and a half. Id be happy to break into the 14's period. Maybe later on with headers and when the 2011 tuning finally
comes out I can hope for low 14's
