I'm sure you are aware that Optima batteries are NOT the only AGM battery on the market. If you want to save a few bucks have a look at one of the other AGM battery manufacturers.

Lifeline and MK are brands I have used and I currently have 2 Lifeline batteries in my boat.

Yes, i agree with the optima being the best option, but do think the group 31 battery will fit?its about 3" taller than stock....although the cables might not reach.has anyone up graded to the group 31 batteries in the Rams before?

not to come off as a dick, but why dont you just throw a box or anything 3 inches taller ontop of your battery and try closing the lid? something soft that wont dent or anything

I have read that Optima batteries are not as good as they used to be since bought out by Johnson Controls. I can't verify personally since I do not have one. I will be using a 8 yr warranty Duralst yellow top battery when my OEM fails. 850cca/1000ca with 3 yr replacement. Never had one let me down yet ant they are a direct fit.

3 year replacement...? that sounds nice! Better than the 1 year replacement 2 year pro-rated!
