How to work the 430 stereo? How to Ipod? Organize Music? Load Photos? is it a waste?
This 430 music center is the most confusing thing in the world and the manual does not explain it AT ALL. I looked on the website and manual, but there doesnt seem to be info anywhere?
IPOD- It doesnt seem to work with Ipods? I connected my Ipod inside the glove box, and I can't get file names or playlists or anything. It just lists numbers. if I click one through the media center, it starts playing on the IPOD speaker, not through the car??? I have a 5th gen nano that worked fine on my GM one I had before?
Loading from Disc - So I gave up and loaded songs onto DVDs. I then loaded them onto the Media Center. Theres no way to make play lists or organize anything, so is the only option to randomly play through all the music you have? its playing christmas songs and country music when I want rock, and I have to manually "search" for EACH song, making it not even worth using. its easier to just listen to the radio.
Pictures- I also tried to load some pictures. for some reason it refuses to recognize 1/2 of them? I made more discs and simplified the file names, different JPG settings, and it just doesnt like 1/2 of them I guess? Are there limitations on the files? I finally found one that works but it was frustrating.
Really feel like I wasted a lot of money on this right now because my old $99 head unit in my 2nd gen with ipod hookup seemed to do a better job of... well... everything.
Is the 430 really just a complete waste of money, or am I missing something? Is there any information on it ANYWHERE?

Finally found a guide online. It would have been nice if it came with the car!

It also looks like it DOESNT work with IPODS... urgh... that makes sense then. Are there any aftermarket support items for ipods on the 430?

Well it works with most of the ipods from about the last 5-6 years. In order for Uconnect to play the iPod or IPhone you must be connecting to the USB either in the center console or glove box.
What iPod do you have and also what is the issue that you're having? If it says "reading" for several minutes and then "Error occurred" is displayed on the screen then you will need to perform the Uconnect SW update. If this is needed (and I'm pretty sure that it will be if this is a 2011 vehicle). Then you can PM me with an email address and I will send you the update file and instructions to perform it. This process takes about 20 minutes to perform.

Mine just sits there and says "reading" and then I drive for 30 minutes and it still says "reading" unless I go through aux devices and then select ipod, and then it just makes the ipod start playing (but not through the stereo).
I'll just go ahead and try to update to the newest version, which I think is 9.292, and see if that fixes it.
IS that the file you have or do you have something different?
Thanks!

the 9.292? Is this an Apple file?
The file that I am talking about is for the Uconnect module. It's an update for the 2011 vehicles that will take care of the "reading" issue and also the fast choppy audio when using blue tooth streaming audio.
This is a TSB (technical service bulletin) that Chrysler has for their service depts. The problem is that the dealers are still giving customers a run around about it. So I have been sending the file and instructions on how to perform it to several members of a few different Chrysler, Jeep & Dodge forums to help them out. As I mentioned just PM me with your email address and I will assist you with this.

forgive for a moment please. We are talking about a 2011 Ram correct? If so then can you tell me the build date of it, it'll be on the drivers door. There will be a tag and look for code MDH.
Have you performed the Uconnect SW update yet? If not, I'm sure that it will help a lot.
