How much do you have to budget for a new truck in accessories? Whats a "must have"?
I was just thinking about this. I bought my truck three days ago, and already have had to purchase what I call the "essential accessories"- or in otherwords, the accessories I feel like you "have" to have if you have a truck.
They included:
Tonneau cover (rollup)
Bed Liner (BedTred, but I usually do spray in Line-Ex or Rhino)
Tow Hooks (but every other truck i've owned had them)
Screen Protector (anytime I'm dealing with a touchscreen).
Winter Floor Mats (reused from last truck)
rear cargo mats (for 4 doors/Extended cabs)
Cab Lights
Radar Detector (reused from last truck).
Cargo Box/Tool Box (since the quad has no storage)
Then I also bought a decal because I wanted to, and was tempted by a dual exhaust but its really not worth it.
Most of these I've bought within 48 hours of all 5 trucks I've bought in my lifetime. Does anyone else do the same thing? Are there any other "essentials" I missed?

For me, the day after I get the truck it's in for window tint. After that the list normally goes like this:
Tonneau cover
BedRug
Wheels/tires
Suspension (lift or drop...depends on my mood)
Winter floor mats (hate carpet mats!)
Radio (if I have a crappy stock radio I look to upgrade to touchscreen)
The rest just comes later, but that is what I usually do within the first 6 months.

I've tinted all my other cars as soon as I bought them, but the rear tint seems pretty solid on these trucks, so I dont feel the need to tint them.
I might tint the front two, does anyone know what percentage will match the rear?
Thanks!

I don't like people seeing me when I drive so I have 5% limo tint all the way around w/ a 15% eye bro on the windshield and love the look of it. It's not for everyone, but I personally like the look of it. Cops do give some people issues about darker tint, I haven't been stopped at all yet (knock on wood) prob. bc my truck is registered in FL and I live in NJ for work, so they prob. think I'm just passing through
Tint is the first thing I did. did the front 2- 20% and the windshield 50%. Later on doubled up the rears and rear slider.
other thing I think is essential is weather tech floormats.
I havent bought a tool box, as I find 3-500 for a box ridiculous. I have the gorilla box on wheels, so I throw it in the bed before work, take it out and put it in the garage at night. alot of my other tools sit on the floor and back seat.
I got seat covers pronto too, as I have had other truck seats get paint and caulk, and other random stuff on em.
upgraded the lighting to HIDs stat too. the stock bulbs are crap
other than that, everything else I was happy with. did led tails later on, intake (which wasnt worth it). got running boards because the girlfriend was having trouble getting in and out.
also got the rear amp step, makes getting in and out of the bed alot easier.
