But then, you'll achieve a worse MPG vehicle and pay more for gas! Not everyone is into disabling mds. Some people like it because it actually does save mpg's on flat stretches of road below 70mph.
I do think it should be user choice to flip a switch to activate/deactivate mds and not mandatory!

but usually when goverment is involved in ANYTHING, you dont get a choice.
Dont get me wrong, i think the MDS technology is a great idea and i do use it quite often (except when i`m in town, i switch it "off" on the shifter). The EPA forces these auto companies to get better MPG out of a vehicle, but the gov/epa has their nose in way too much business. Because these trucks are made into more daily driver vehicles today, ther is ALOT more trucks on the road today because they DO get better mpg, so now the goverment feels the need to stick their nose into the truck scene alot more today. Thats just wrong in my eye`s. I know its a touchy subject, but when is enough, enough, with controlling what people really want in this country. We want options, not mandates. The options are getting to be less, and the mandates are becoming more. What happened to the days when it didnt matter what a truck got for mpg`s. If some of you could see whats coming down the road at you very soon, you`ll lose even more freedom to do what you want with your toys. The hemi will soon be gone... forget even owning a truck... they`ve already started the process to eliminate what you can do to your trucks. All the tuner companies like SC & DS will be out of business very soon because of goverment. Is this what WE THE PEOPLE really want...? Goverment mandateing is bad for business, right along with having MDS technology being forced on us. We`re gonna look great towing, hauling, hunting, camping, running down to the local hardware stores in our electric toyota prius`s. Anyhow, i think you get what i`m saying. If you let the GOV/EPA do one thing, it leaves their foot in the door to do alot more with controlling us and what we can do and have. Some of us still have the small option to shut the MDS off, but that is changing. Mark my words, the MDS will be locked out very soon and nobody will be able to shut it off, not even by down shifting into 5th gear like most of us do right now.

By droan are you guys referring to only an audible sound? Mine has the droan sound, but there is also a notable vibration in the tranny at those MDS points. Very unenjoyable riding experience. My wife says it feels kind of like you are riding over wakeup stips.
Any my whole problem has always been that this draon was not really present during the 4 test drives or the first couple thousand miles (had I felt it I wouldnt have bought it ;^). And within 60 days of purchase I tried to use the 60 day handshake guarantee they advertise but they werent honoring that AT ALL!
And now the MDS points are accompanied by a slight metallic new sound/vibration coming from the engine. At those shift points of MDS if you arent heavy on the gas there is this new metallic vibration sound coming from the syste,. Oh joy.
