I ordered a 12. I know what the dealer is going to give me, I also know what they will take for it if you had to buy from them.

Taking all those numbers into consideration if anyone wants it then I would need 19K to be slightly ahead of what the dealer would give me plus the tax savings I would loose. That would save you almost 1K over the bottom price the dealer would take. No room to move, it would not make financial sense for me. Not that it means a whole lot but 19K is well under kbb private party sale.

So what made you decide to get rid of your 09? I guess your not gonna wait for the 13 to come out, maybe you'll be dissapointed you didn't.

 

Oh man you should have waiting for the 13 they are going to put the 8 inch touch screen radio and controls but I am afraid they are gonna ugly the front end....I sure hope not.

 

If your not hooked into the new screen thing I would grab a '12 as well.
I just can't wrap my head around why they wanted a different grille.

That new one looks like a Ford more than a Dodge. The frontal area looks bigger to me. No wonder mileage is not improving....Yuck! But what are we gonna do about it. I'll need a new truck in a few years so I guess I'll be stuck with the new design too...

 

+1 in looking like a Ford, I traded my '10 on a '12, I liked the '10 and I didnt want to beta-test a '13. Everybody jumps up and down at the eight speed trans but 5 or 6 is good enough for me, especially with a 5.7 V8 with ample torque. Heck I've driven full size straight 6 cars with a two speed powerglide daily lol.

8" touchscreen would be cool I guess, but I tend to look at the road more than the screen when driving, I'll use the saved $$ to buy a 50" + TV for the house

 

I can give or take the new front end, I think when the 13 is unmasked it will look good. I have to believe some cool headlights like what is in the 300.

A few things leaned me towards the 12.

1. If they bolt up the 8 speed to the Hemi I do not want to be the first to run it in a truck.
2. I suspect a little higher MSRP. Rumor is the keyless go will be standard in the sport and I would not doubt so will the radio. I am sure they will bump the price based on these two things and to be honest, they are not must haves for me.
3. I really like the interior on our trucks and I am sure it will get a slight redesign given the new radio requirements. I also like the seats that come standard in the Sport. Mine show zero wear at 50K. They may not change them but do not want to chance that.
4. Last... Some artciles say a "possible redesigned hood". I do not buy that though, to me it looks like the same hood and the bigger grill was achived by cutting into the bumper. But.... If the hood was redesigned I do not want to get into a situation where the "sport hood" was not available out of the gate and having to wait for that. I WANT the sport hood bad!

So all those things weighed on it. Plus the interest rates right now, getting 2.49% over 72, the rebates currently on the RAM, likely to not be there early in the 13 run.... All sorts of facotrs.

I did get some bad news today though.... I have my VIN already (ordered last Tue), but.... They are building it in Mexico and I live 50 miles from Warren! That will add about 2 weeks of time to the delivery. I hope this was done due to Warren just being busy and this option will be faster, or maybe Warren does not do RC's, that all use to happen in St. Louis so I am out of touch as to where they can and cannot build a RC now. Oh, and I think I have my truck sold already!! Will know tonight.

 

Only thing I would like is keyless ignition, my BMW had it and I like it. I'd pay an extra 500 for it

The rest is not a big deal, I bought the new '12 for as cheap as the 2010 when they were giving them away. I'm sure the '13 will be full priced for a while.

Bad thing of course is if the '13 is a really great truck you will probably lose a little come trade-in time on the '12 but I'll take that chance. Worked out when I bought my 2007 2500hd dmax when the new body style 2007.5s came out

 

Well, that was a record for me selling a truck. It will be gone on Wednesday. It is really going to be hard to drive a POS compact rental for a month or so... But oh I will love the slowly moving gas gauge! Maybe I will put a wing and decals on it so I am cool

 

Maybe put a cherry bomb or pipe on it, might make it go faster.

 

Hey best of luck with your new 2012 I can't wait to see some pics of it. Glad you got your 09 sold already. Judging by your pics it's pretty easy to tell your meticulous in maintaining your vehicles, I don't think I'd hesitate to buy one from you if I was looking and you had something I wanted.
