Default Hitch/Receiver Ball Mount

Replaced my 2002 Ram 1500 QC about 3 months ago with 2011 Ram 1500 QC.

Went to tow with new truck for the first time and used the old receiver ball mount. The old ball mount does not fit as tight as before (insert joke here).

I assumed they were pretty much all the same size and fit.

When I towed at highway speeds not problem. When making frequent starts/stops the thing feels like the hitch was going to rattle off! Sounded and felt really bad.

Any thoughts here?

Thanks.

There is a lot of variation between brands, and you need to make sure you have the right sized hole/pin for the reciever.

It seems like the newer 2" recievers on the trucks are a little bit bigger inside then the older ones. hitches do rattle a little.

havnt done any research to see if there is any specifications or standards for the inside dimensions or outside dimensions of a 2" receiver.
