Proof? Of what! Do your own SEARCH and read. Its a new product. It is mentioned on several sites and discussed. Look like a quality filter to me. Its mentioned elsewhere that its about as good as it gets.

ut ohhhhhhhh, here we goooooooooo

I use valvoline synpower (5w20) and the factory oil filter.
Run it for 4,000 miles, change oil & filter, never noisy, never an issue.

Mobil 1 on the other hand, it`ll show you where your hemi tick is....lol.
Royal Purple = way over priced...!!!!

i googled those fram utra filter and have not really been finding too much other than what they have on there website and they have pretty much no info there.

as far as the price of RP go, sometime you have to shop around a bit. i know if i was to buy it locally it would cost me about $100 for just the oil for 1 oil change but if i was to drive 60km into the big city i could get the same exact oil for $50.

I've used FRAM filters from Wally World on my vehicles for years. Not exclusively but frequently enough. While I can agree that once they are apart they look pretty cheap I can say that I've never personally had one issue with a FRAM oil filter and I don't change my conventional oil until about 5-7K miles depending on how much city driving I've been doing.

Obviously a filter they sell at Wal-Mart isn't going to be a top of the line filter. I think that's a no brainer. I just go with what works, so far it's been the Mopar brand ones from the stealership on my RAM and I've had zero issues in 22k miles.

I thought the days of breakingin, shavings, trash etc passed yrs ago. What with the cleaning new engines go through, close tolerances the're built under etc. I know yrs ago i asked the dealer how to I break it in, he said however you're gonna drive it. Race engines at the local track are installed new and raced the first time they run @ 5000-7000 pm. i asked a friend in the nascar hall of fame "don't you have to break them in"? He said if the tolerances are right you can start them and race them immediately. Now i'm not talking $25,000 NASCAR engines, im talking your local average joe that has the block line bored and things done right. But then again if a $25 or whatever oil change at 1500 miles lights your candle I'm all for it. I've never done it myself in 45 yrs of driving and never had a sinle engine failur, maybe I'm just lucky. I do like some slick 50 or Greased Lightning every 3-4 changes..

I agree with this, in a way. Just because a filter is possibly made with cheaper parts (compared to other brands) doesn't necessarily mean that it will result in damage to your engine. I personally have never heard of an engine failure that has been directly attributed to a Fram oil filter.

Having said that, I use PurOne's, just in case.

just because they look good on the outside does not mean the internals have not failed and you are pumping unfiltered oil through your engine. i have read of fram oil filters collapsing in on themselves when installed on somewhat higher performance engines.

@ PHIL03 yes you have enough miles to switch to synthetic oil.

I use amsoil signature series with a amsoil filter.

If you have an expensive high performance engine why would you be using a Walmart oil filter to begin with?
