Who had a 2002-2007 quad 4.7?
Who here came from a 3rd generation quad cab with the old 4.7 and now owns a 4th gen hemi?
How much happier are you with the power and mileage? How much better is your mileage?
I have a 2004 quad cab 4X4 with a 4.7 that I bought new, and I'm considering trading for a new express, I tow more now, and the 4.7 isn't great on all the hills around me.

I owned an '05 4.7, '07 5.7, and currently an '09 5.7. Power wise going from a 4.7 to the current 5.7 displacement, well, it likes going from a Prius to a Viper (that maybe an over-statement, but you get the picture).
Mileage is better, my '05 4.7 topped off around 15-15.5 I always felt it was underpowered for this size truck, then again the Ford 4.6 I test drove was even worse. Currently though I average 17-17.5 mpg's, 50/50 driving though.
Bottom line, you won't be disappointed.

gas mileage im getting right now is about 17.5 MPG, but i only have 2000 miles on the truck. i read on here that it will get better as i go
if i were you, i'd go for the 5.7. i dont understand why i didnt just do it in the first place
I own a 11 QC sport with the 5.7. Never had the 4.7 but upon looking into these trucks the 5.7 was a no brainer to me. I am happier then ever with it. IMO it still does better mileage then the other V8s out there, considering its power output. I think pulling this motor does by far the best. I have a buddy with a 6L vortec, (yes I know its a 6L) but when we hook up to our 30 ft holiday trailers I can do around 500kms on my tank at 105km/h. He can only do around 350, both of us have the 121 liter tanks. I know another guy with the ford 5.4 or whatever is (JUNK HAHA) He says if he babies it he can do 450 max. I'm not sure what he tows with it, but he also has 121 liter tank. Also not only does it make better mileage towing, it just seems to be "peppier" then the others.
Highway driving seems to be the same way. Because of the four cylinder mode I will do much better on the highway.
Where I think this motor lacks is in the city. The other motors do much better there, but I have found that if you do the shifting manually and prevent MDS from coming on, you will increase by about 1MPG if careful.
Go HEMI!
