K&N Air Filter
I have an 09 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi - thought about going to the K&N air filter ... no CAI or mods, just the filter.
Anyone else using it - like it - hate it - no biggy either way??
Thanks

Had the K&N CAI and it was a money pit...louder sound thats it..
Have the K&N drop in filter currently and didn't notice a difference...have to clean it and once I do we'll see if I notice anything.

I did the drop in and didn't notice a huge difference. I like to be able to clean the filter and don't feel like running to the dealer. I also remember it costing about two or three times what a stock paper was from the dealer, so after a couple of cleanings, it's paid and the rest of its life is gravy..
I once had a K&N drop-in in one of my vans and did a good job. I bought the van new and put one in right away and 13 years, 250000 km later it and the van were still going strong. The only advantage I found is you don't have to replace them.
I did the drop in filter ... figured it'd pay for itself vs paper over time. I'm not sure there's a huge difference in HP or anything off the line, seems a little more responsive, but that could be in my head. I did reset my MPG meter things to see if it had any impact ... I seemed to get a bit better mileage on day 1, but again ... we'll see if it holds true over time. Simple upgrade I think may pay for itself .. my 2 cents.
