Looks like a very nice job but based on my experience with an extended cab with the 8 foot bed (and the CC with the 8 foot bed is even longer), the truck will be inpractical off road in windy narrow roads, terrible turning radius, hard to make u-turns and the weight distribution really unbalanced with the rear wheels having very little traction. Another minus is the ride, I think it's going to be very bouncy in anything but blacktop.

Pull the flares if you are not going to fill them out.

Holy dog turds that's a long truck. Does RAM make a longer one, such as a 2500/3500 with Mega Cab and Long bed?

I like it overall and would love to hear from you on how it rides. Oh and where did you get this done at? Did they swap the frame for a HD trucks or something, or just put frame extensions on?

Dodge doesn't make this set-up in the 1500's however the 2500 HD does have the same cab and longbox, but of course it doesnt come with all the bells and whistles that the Sport does.

The Mega Cab only comes with the 6ft box, the work was completed by Precision Bodyline out of North Salt Lake City, longbedmytruck.com, they have stretched over 400 megacabs, this was the first 1500.
Basically they cut the frame under the cab about half way back under the rear doors, its the only straight part of the frame, they add the extension to the frame and then reconnect the back, the workmanship is strong and far superior to dodge's factory work, a new drive shaft is custom made and all lines and wiring are then extended and all the work is warrented by themselves, the conversion doesn't void any dodge warrenty.
The ride is no different than before the conversion, I still get the same outstanding performance and gas mileage, I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. So when I picked up the truck to drive 1800 miles home, I had a great opportunity to see how it handled and there was no difference, the only con is the turning circle, which of course is now bigger, but thats a small price to pay.

I would be curious to see how the tow ratings and payload are affected...I would think they have gone down because the frame is no longer one solid piece. Do you have updated ratings?

Overall I think it looks alright, for those who want a longbox that is...Personally it would not suit me, I don't like the long trucks. Sometimes I wish I had one for cargo, however that's what trailers are for IMO. But it could be a viable option for those who want a long box and not sacrifice options.
If I remember right, in 2013 they are now selling the half tonnes with a crew cab long box option. That is also an extended wheelbase so it is a true longbox, kind of like above. Don't quote me on that tho.
