Default 09' Body Rust Already

I have an 09' with 31k on it. I've complained many times of the cheap paint job done at the factory. I was cleaning the truck last night and noticed the bed is rusting. Both rear wheel wells where the bed metal sheet is bent and screwed to the wheel well is rusting with the paint peeling and steel laminating to cause section loss of the steel. I'm going to go to the dealer today and see what they have to say. I don't know what warranty is left. I'm guessing they are going to say that is covered by the 3yr/36k warranty. I've already had problems with peeling paint and rusting on my rear bumper which I brought to the attention of the dealer. They said it was a stone chip. I evaluate paint systems for a living and I told the lady this. The paint was curling up which is not a stone chip.

Unless you bought your truck new after 8-22-09 you are out of 3/36. If you bought it used it will depend if the original owner bought it new after 8-22-09.

To me this is visible on a walk around. That is covered under 5yr/100k warranty. It will eventually creep into the side bed panel and rust it through which it isn't too far away. The pack rust has already bent the metal around the wheel well.

I have it on a few spots. UNDER the plastic door pannel when you open the doors. Kneel down and have a look. Mine is all bubbles. They dont do anything unless its a HOLE! I am tempted to drill a hole and say there is the hole!

I also have it where the truck bed meets the cab around the rubber. Also anywhere the bumpers bolt in.

Mines rusted/rotted... what a shame, $45,000 dollars, and its ONLY 2 years old....!
I just had my 2010 hemi qc 4x4 sport repainted just ahead of the tailgate in the box. Paint bubbled all across the rearward bed seam, rust was coming up thru the paint. Took it to the dealer, they repainted it under warranty. End result, the new paint is already starting to bubble up 2 weeks later, terrible scratchs in the metal where they ground out the rust. I could have done a far better job on it myself outside during a fuggin rain storm. Hope you have better luck with yours when you take it in to have it fixed/repainted.

Update: My truck is rusting out bad now. I now have pack rust and it is bending the steel on the outside along the fender. There are waves and ripples all along the fender from the pack rust. Sad, a $45k truck with 48k miles on it has almost rusted all the way through. I even made sure to wash and spray down the underside. I'm hoping to wire brush and spray with rust inhibitor. I called Dodge and they basically say sorry for your luck.

Try washing it less - seriously. Let it get dirty for the winter and stay that way.

Last fall I noticed paint blisters at the bottom of my wheel wheels I visited my dealer and he took some pictures and sent them to Chrysler about 10 days later he contacted me and said both rear panels and inner liners would be REPLACED not repaired , they sent my truck to a body shop returned it 5 days later, wonderful job no complaints , Chrysler backed up there warranty with no hassle to me.
