Default Love my ram but I wanna trade up

I sold my convertible this week so I'm cashed up. I've got a 2011 Bighorn with sunroof and lots of options but I'm in love with the White Sport with RT hood. I could pay off my truck and be free and clear but I've got it in my head to get this white one.

None of the local dealers are willing to come down in price and they are only willing to offer $22k for a trade. Not sure what to do. I'm in NH and I'm willing to travel anywhere in the country if need be too.

Obligitory pictures for hearing my rant. Here she is with a topgun customz 2.5" leveling kit installed last fall.

That WAS a thought but in the end I still would like the leather heated seats and nav package. I guess I'll contact some out of state dealers.

The dealers won't come down in price? In this economy? I the truck your looking at a liminted something or another? Just about every thing is negotiable in this day and age. Lots of vehicles no one pays anywhere near MSRP. Check your trade in value on Edmunds,KBB and Black book to get a idea. They will be different.

Sell current truck then buy new truck. Clean trade in shows at just under 22K and avg retail at $25K The dealer has to make money on your trade and also realizes that quad cabs don't sell as well as crew cabs. One of the side effects of having huge rebates and discounts is lower used prices.

One of the problems you have is the age of your trade. Its to new. Dealer won't like it. Hard to sell. Private buyer can buy new for not much more with better interest rates.

$22k in trade?? wow..

2 months ago i stopped in at a dealer i was never at before... final deal was unbelievable and I signed the next day...

traded in my 2010 sport mango crew 4x4(with tubes, painted tonnea, exhaust, tint, etc) w/ 30k miles (msrp was just over $40k when new, think i paid 30+tax)

got a 2012 crew 4x4 white express(sticker $37,600) for nothing!!! they traded me straight up except for paying $180 in transfer and document fees. So i refinanced what i owed on my 2010 (20k even) financed that for 12 less months than my orig loan and payment went down $140 a month.....

I also looked at my old truck as being out of basic warranty in 8 months, needing tires and prob some brakes in that same time and common sense told me to dump it as much as i liked the color...

I have yet to talk to anyone that can even believe the deal i got.... i am still kinda in disbelief myself

Well my last ditch effort failed on me today. I called a couple of dealers who were farther away and could pull from a different pool. I guess I'll have to do the responsible thing and pay it off......then put a BDS 4" lift, new rims, new tires and tonneau cover on it come spring time!

I'd sit tight. The 2012 RAMs aren't being discounted yet. Especially now since they have now stated that they are extending the 2012 run until next year to avoid DEF in the diesels.

Makes you feel better, I'm in the same boat as you on my 2010, only they offered me 19k. I laughed.
