The factory paint jobs are the absolute worst i`ve ever seen...!!!!

...and some people give me crap on here because i complain too much about dodge and their dealers.
I`ve said it in the past, when this truck started with the box rotting thru at 2yrs old, quality was AND is, STILL an issue with dodge.
I`ve never seen another vehicle at what the prices we pay for these trucks today, rot out so quick like a dodge.
Tons of 2008 on back in the area here with the rear wheel wells full of rust holes. What a shame.
Might have something to do with the paper thin metal. I put a dent in my rear quarter just by smacking it with my knuckle one day. And BTW I saw an '09 with rotting rear quarter sides the other day in a parking lot. I looked at it and it was pretty bad. I'm thinking about just Rhino Lining my whole truck.....

CarGuy, you said you use ceramic brakes pads, eh? Got to check into those. I've noticed this surface rust issue on GM/Chevy, don't know how Tundra or Ford are faring with this issue, but, it does seem to me this is a fairly new problem - rust is not new, but this so called surface rust on almost new trucks. I read one GM owner who had surface rust on a three month old truck, at least he only had it for three months. I don't know if Ram is better or worse, but probably no worse than some of the others. You'd think the truck industry would solve this!

I can't see this as a "truck" thing? It may very well be just metallic brake dust and if so then it would even affect Corvettes lol

Several have mentioned rot on fairly new trucks, isn't this covered under warranty?

I know the sheet metal is getting thinner and thinner. I took my truck thru an auto car wash and thought the hood was going to collapse when I went thru the air drier, scarred the crap out of me how flimsy it was !! Must be a way to reduce cost/weight for better MPG?

Ceramic pads are horrible unless you do nothing but stop and go driving. They are superior when hot, awful when cold. So if your normal use is not a slalom course or inner city traffic then stick with the semi-metallic.

RAMULAK i will always believe, it has ALOT more to do with how the metal is treated AND processed, rather than thickness. BUT, you`re RIGHT, if its thinner, and me thinks the metal is garbage to start with, these trucks are going to rot even faster than the 3rd gen trucks have. (at least where i live at anyways) I`m at the age now, where i dont really need a truck much anymore, so i wont ever buy another one after this one goes. And i`ve also givin it thought that i`ll likely go back to buying second hand cheap vehicles to drive. Its hard to take hits on new vehicles and lousy trade-in value. Sometimes its better to just use up a used vehicle, junk it, go get another elcheapo to drive and just drive`m into the ground like i use to. Not only have they cheaped out on the quality, but the $40,000 to $50,000 dollar prices are just unacceptable anymore for me. Nice to have that shiney new vehicle, but at what costs... they just rot away...!!! Time to start driving those multi-purpose point A to point B vehicles again. Sometimes being all new shiney & pretty, ain`t worth what its all about..! (lol)

Covered for 5yr/100,00 i believe.
Mine has been "so-called" fixed last fall (bed rotted thru) and now its rotted thru AGAIN..!
Lately, i have been looking an seeing MORE RUST everywhere...! And this truck gets washed and waxed all the time...!
Alot of other ram owners with 09 & 10`s around here in the NE are seeing this too, so its NOT just me.

My rant, and i`m stickin to it..!
Thank you "dodge/ram/chrysler"
for your wonderful professionalism and quality...!

NOT...!
