Another towing, gear question, lifted truck thread.

It's about 105 mile and 172km on mine. I would be towing the rhino a few times in hunting season. The trailer and rhino a few times a year and just the trailer or just the boat hopefully lots this year. But they are very short trips. The river is only 10 min and a few camping spots and hunting spots about 45 min.
As for the carrier the new carrier center section is a 2012 and up thing. Everywhere I have called has said the same thing. Maybe it's cause it going from a 3.55 to lower gears.
Does anyone see a problem with a rhino in the back of the truck and towing a trailer? Truck has 9" air bags and 35s will it tow it? It still has 3 yrs of warranty or 150km.

I hate to say it but you might not be happy running that gear/tire combo. If you really like everything about the truck, take it but have him swap on a brand new set of 33" (Stock size) tires. Then you will be fine. I haul my Rhino (and Grizz + Foreman) with my 3.55s easily enough.

Yep, I knew what you meant. Just thinking about total weight being hauled. If it was just the Rhino, no trailer, I don't think it'll be as big a deal as with the trailer. Knowing the damn Rhino is 1200 lbs, you will be close to your GCVW with the Rhino and say a 5K lb trailer.

They have these nifty sliding calculators you can use to account for the number of passengers and payload and that'll give you the max trailer load available to keep from exceeding the Gross Combined Vehicle Weight.
You might also want to check the rhino weight. 1050 "dry" maybe but not "wet" with gas, oil, etc. Yamaha lists my 700 as 1199lbs wet. Then I added about another 800 lbs in tracks/Curtis Cab.

You could be right about the wet weight.maybe the weight depends on the year .It looks like it will be close. The truck has a GVWR of 14150. They say the trucks gvwr of 6800 with payload. Does anyone know the curb weight of these trucks or is it the payload minused from the gvwr? So roughly 5562lb Also when the trailer insurance lists the GVW as 6000lb. Is that the max weight of the trailer or the dry weight?

Payload = all passengers and gear
They weight between 4800-5800 depending on equipment/options (Reg Cab, Quad cab, 2wd/4wd..etc)
Trailer weight of 6k is Max allowable on the axles which includes the weight of the trailer, so that is the most amount it can weigh if rolled on the scale.
For example; I have a 7,000lb car trailer that has a dry weight of 1900lbs. I can only put 5100lbs on it which maxes it out at 7,000lbs.
