Mopar Premium Tri Fold Tonneau Cover.....Very Nice.
Didnt see any reviews of Mopar's OEM "Premium Trifold Tonneau cover." So here is a quick review.....
I have had the Extang "Trifecta" Trifold cover on my last truck for the last 8 years and it held up like new keeping all my bowhunting gear dry and secure. On my new 2014 Laramie I wanted to take it up a notch and wanted a more elegant yet still durable convertible top material. Mopar makes a premium trifold tonneau cover made from Haartz "Dan" material. This the same material you see on premium convertible tops. It has a woven fabric on the top side bonded to a all water proof vinyl under layer. This sets its look apart from the many traditional vinyl tonneau tri-fold tops that has been out for awhile. Several companies are using a variation of this fabric on their premium tonneau covers like Extang. Unlike all the other companies, the Mopar tonneau has custom clamps for the Ram. All 4 cam over clamps have been designed to hold on to the rails of the truck bed as well a leaving a cut out space on the clam for the plastic bed rail covers. This is a very quick and slick cam system and better than the universal ones used by Extang Trifecta. Installation from new is less than 10 minutes. Folding the trifold cover back is as simple as uncamming the back clamps and folding the cover forward. Taking the entire Tonneau cover off is just as easy by removing the front two cams.
With the locking tailgate, security is as good as any convertible would be.
All tonneau covers (including hard tops) are defeated if someone really wanted in with a Flathead screwdriver so pick the one you like the looks of best. I really like the tri-fold access type tonneau covers and they have served me well and my lifestyle over the years.
The Mopar "premium" trifold takes it up a notch in the looks department and I expect many years of service life.
Mopar part number for my 6'4" bed is: Part # 82211273AD
