Default looking into new ram soon

hi folks
I used to have a daktoa in the mid 90's and worked with my brother ram cummin truck on pipelines. Currently in a toytoa tacoma. Its a good truck. In the past I had a F150 ( 1997) with 5.4 engine until 98600 miles on it started having problems with it, a local monkey mech ****ed it up for me. Also had full size chevy until quailty control went down hill.
SO I am looking getting back to full size due more room and power wise from a tacoma.Even a bit better gas mileage than tacoma.
the 1000 buck question: I heard that 1500 ram got elecitral issues. Does have any other issues with the ram? I am looking at quad cab 4x4 with middle of the road engine with 6 foot bed to load stuff and atv times to times. possiable towing once a while.
Keep the issue clean and straight.

I haven't seen anything about electrical problems.

I've worked on Rams since the late 90s and haven't seen any common electrical issues...

I own a ram and I haven't had any major electrical problems so far. So far the only problem I experienced is an A/C issue.

Serious paint issues. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new Ford. The one before it and the model year before that have suffered. The new GM's aren't doing so hot either. I'm not sure you are going to be as happy as you were with the Dakota. I had a 96' and you could beat that thing and she still kept ticking.

I agree--paint is the only continuing issue the 4th Gen. have had. It is hit and miss, but lots and lots of complaints from people about crappy paint jobs.
