Default Need help! 2011 1500 Laramie 4x4

Looking at a 2011 1500 Laramie 4x4 crew cab that only has 36k miles on it and she looks like she is in excellent condition.

I want to know what kind of problems you guys have had, if any, would you buy this truck again, and what should I look for when I go to the dealership.

I am really interested in her, but I also don't need the headache of a truck that is falling apart. I have a newborn and need something that I can rely on.

I really appreciate any feedback you guys can give me! Thank you so much in advance.

You are putting us in a tough spot by saying "I have a newborn and need something that I can rely on" lol

All I can say is that my 2010 just rolled 130k miles and I would jump in it and drive cross-country without any reliability concern. Other posters are reporting 250 - 300k miles with very few repairs.

You can also search for posting of all manner of problems from drivetrain to strange noises, electrical gremlins, etc.

These are high tech, high horse power, computer controlled -- complicated machines. If you pull the trigger, go through every component such as changing all fluids and running every system.

With less than 40k miles and only 5 years old, you should be able to drive it and take your time going over everything to ensure reliability. Test drive the heck out of it first though!

Congratulations on the newborn and good hunting.

I really appreciate the feed back. I know all vehicles are different and have their own set of problems. I was just curious if the more senior members have seen any patterns on the threads of issues these trucks might have. I combed through em, but seems pretty inconsistent issues.

Like you said, with less than 40k, I'm hoping she is a hidden gem with another 100k+ left of life in her. You better believe I'm going to ride her hard on the test drive.

Thanks again bud.

You'll never really get that kind of info. There just isn't enough members to accurately gather that data. I would never trust that, good or bad. It is a low mileage vehicle that sounds good but the engine could drop out of the frame rails two miles from the dealer. The best source I have seen for that would be TrueDelta.com

2011 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 5.7 Hemi 4x4 with 30k miles. About the only complaints I have are the drivers side seat belt spring is a bit wonky (doesn't want to retract) and the shift lever isn't quite as positive as it could be, but that has been like it from day one so no biggie.

Mines due for a plug change, Just waiting to move to AZ before I do it. (Bit cold in Omaha for it)
