Default Buying a Ram via Canada

I'm looking at a possibility of buying a used Ram through a used car dealership that has very high ratings. He is offering a Ram that was originally from Canada according to the Autocheck. I wonder if there would be any sort of issues down the road because of the Canada history. I'm not concerned with a shyster deal and I've read some informative articles aimed at the trade about dealing in such vehicles. I'm just curious if anyone has had any experiences good or bad, with a Canada wholesaled vehicle.

what part of canada is the vehicle coming from? How old is the vehicle? Who will be handling the importing, inspection?

usually, canadians are importing not exporting as eastern canada is rust belt territory. I wouldn't buy anything from there especially if its over 4 year old. Secondly, the same vehicle in canada cost $10 000 more when new; its not cost effective.

Coming into canada, Canadian have a vehicle registrar that lists what is required to bring a vehicle into canada...some are not allowed. For years, Canada would not allow gto's into the country.

Canada has different crash standards so you better check with the US body of government that governs vehicle importing. You don't want to pay to have to change lighting and bumpers.

The vehicle is already imported and is available at a used car dealership. This apparently is not an unusual transaction as there are several articles about importing the vehicles on dealer related sites. I'm not looking to actually import, I'm only wondering about any potential problems down the road if I were to buy the truck. Recalls, long term warranty work, etc.

I had some input from another site and have rethought my decision. Since the Canada import was a three hour drive from me and the price wasn't all that much better in my estimation I'm going to look for another vehicle.

Thanks for the input.
