Default New to Forum! Need Advice 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi Long Bed

New to the Forum! And in need of help!

2009 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi Long Bed Quad Cab

Got this gasser at 29,000 on a steal price so now I'm looking to do some things to it. Hopefully this forum can help me build it !

New to Dodge Truck Modding, I'd say pretty mechanIcally inclined. However need help deciding on a couple things. I'm looking to lift, speed up, and widen this ram.

I've ordered a K&N CAI
Throttle Body Spacer I heard is a waste
Borla Cat Back Exhaust? What do you suggest, I'd like dual exhaust !
Chip next? Headers? I don't know, where do I go.

In the process of performance upgrades I'd like some to have a widened stance, 10 inch wife tires? Butttttttttttt I'd also like to go up 3-4", so what kit? Carli, I've read the most good stuff on however I can't find one that fits my truck?!?!?! Does 1500 parts fit 2500 Hemis? Help me out ! Thanks in advane guys! !! -Damian

CAI is good for looks and sound. Don't expect any performance increases. Stock airbox flows best.
Throttle body IS waste of money on a port injected engine. They are meant for TBI or carburetors.
Exhaust is in the eye of the beholder. Freeing up the exhaust is a good idea. Borla is good, but expensive. Everyone will have their own opinion.
There is no "chip". You will need to buy a tuner.
Headers won't get you much either.

I don't know.... If the trucks use the same exhaust manifolds as the cars.... they are incredibly restrictive, and overall, just a poor design. When I looked at the set we had pulled off of a charger RT...... I was amazed that chrysler would put something like that on what is ostensibly a 'performance' car.....

Thanks for the input, so does anyone know what lift kit I can install. I want to go with Carli but I can't find a kit that states its for the 2500 8' bed hemi. So I'm wondering if the 1500 lift kits will be the same as the difference between a 1500 and 2500 from my understanding is stiffness in the leafs

I wouldn't bet on the 1500 kits working on a 2500, there are more differences than just spring rate.
