Deleted MDS w/ new cam/lifters CEL system lean, cylinder 7 misfire
Hello. I have a 2015 ram 2500 with a 6.4 Hemi. I got the dreaded CEL misfire and turned out it was time for a lifter and cam. I did all the work myself (was very thorough). New mopar genuine non/mds cam with hellcat non MDS lifters and the MDS ports are now plugged. Now my issue started when I took it to be tuned and the shop could not unlock the pcm so the tune could not be completed to disable the MDS system via electronics. He said it was good to drive but I would have to deal with the CEL till I figured how to unlock the pcm. I am just going to purchase a HP Tuner and take care of the issue but in the 2 days sense driving I do have a PO171, PO174 and PO307 (cylinder 7 misfire and bank 1-2 lean codes). Could these be related to not having it tuned and running with a non MDS cam and lifters or is it a separate issue? Swapped coil packs and didn’t chance location of misfire and am trying to plan my day tomorrow to figure out this issue if it is separate.
Thanks in advance!

Good deal, I did forget to mention and might be important considering the circumstances, but I did have to remove the intake after torque sequence and new gasket where applied. I did reuse the new gaskets a second time which considering the gasket material I did not consider an issue but I may be incorrect.
Technically, you aren't supposed to do that...... Though, I have in the past, and gotten away with it. Recheck bolt torque though, and verify they are all correct. (I might even bump the torque spec a bit as well.....)
Copy that! I will do that tomorrow. I really appreciate the input! Thank you
It’s always fun! 😂 , going to purchase a HP Tuner I think today online and let the truck sit this week while it ships here to avoid any damage that might be caused by not having the system disabled. Any advice on which tuner also getting pcm unlocked? Quickest version would be ideal, this is my only vehicle, going to hopefully be able to use a buddies back up car.

If you are buying the HP Tuner stuff, you will have software that will allow you to do pretty much anything you want to the programming. My advice.... Only make SMALL changes, one at a time. Don't go thru and change a whole bunch of stuff, then beat your head against the wall trying to figure out which change is causing problems.
Around here, there are various shops that can unlock your PCM, or sell you an unlocked PCM...... But, I am just west of Detroit, where a lot of this stuff originates.

Awesome, I’ll call around. Do you see why I couldn’t continue to drive it for a few more days maybe 15 miles a day. I would assume the cam profile is the same being the motor sounds perfect.
That, I am not entirely sure. I don't know if the PCM will also stop injecting fuel/firing the coils on the cylinders it thinks should be deactivated..... Likely it doesn't.... which means you will have four dead cylinders, that are still doing the compression thing. That will REALLY turn the truck into a dog.
