Questions??
Thanks in advance for offering to share your experiences on drives of the 2009 Ram.
Do you have any opinions on the rear suspension coil springs
as to how they behave off road,
or towing near the max loads?
Is it true the new rear coil springs improve 'concrete freeway hop'
jolts and jars in the ride?
Is there any road surface condition
where the new coil spring behavior
'got your attention'
for some odd behavior?
Are the new shock absorbers
too soft
to hard
for 'performance' oriented Ram pickup drivers?
When driving the 2009 Ram
have you played around with the MPG display on the Trip Computer?
Can you tell the highest speed at which the
MDS kicks out and the MPG goes suddenly down?
Have you driven different Rams
with the offerings of 3.21/3.55/3.73/3.92/4.10
differential gears?
I am wondering with 407 ft-lbs of torque now available on a 5.7
whether the diff gearing makes much difference anymore
except for doing burnouts.
With variable valve timing on the new 5.7 engine design
I am hoping that massive torque is available down low in the rpms.

I don't know a lot about them but I do know Chrysler started building them last Monday, the 11th. In the one shipping lot I can see a few hundred of them and I do know there were SLT's and Laramie's on the lot. I didn't look real close, so I don't know if they're making sport's yet but I would not be surprised if they were. Should start seeing them on lots this week or the next.
Sorry guys I have been busy lately. production has started. They have been running pilots for quite some time now but as Gage stated they have began production at a limited built with an increasing curve of units per day for the reason of assuring quality over quanity.
All trim levels are being built. I personally have no idea about the power wagon. My guess is it will be a 2010 model year.
The Big Horn, laramie, Slt trim are the main units being built. Not sure about the sort but we have seen many sport packages...matching bumpers, mirrors, etc. etc.
No word from where i sit on many of the questions that have been asked.
r/t? no idea.
pricing, not my department.
There has been huge drive twords a better towing 1500. And eliminating squating.
Alot of the fine details we know are not suppose to be talked about, and truthfully, some things i simply dont know.
HankL. you simply have to much time on your hands and your questions will not be answered. haha, just kidding, alot of the questions you have asked were great questions and the answers i dont know I will ask around to some of the other engineers.
Concrete hop is exceptionally better. This truck rides much smoother, less roll.
For all you exhaust guys, the duals sound amazingly differant. Way deeper, more grumble.
All the test i do are transfered , recorded rather, by a dash-puter and relayed back to a differant place for evaluation. I actualy just drive and report on the spacific truck i am in. will try to pay attention to the mpg.
As far as differant gearing, You can almost guess and be correct which rear end is each truck by trim levels of course.
Sorry I cant get inot specifics about alot of stuff.
Any one get out to the Woodward cruise? There were quite a few DS out there and the engineers were more than happy to answer questions.

Okay, My turn
1. Has Dodge improved thier paint and body assembly? ie, plastic foam type inserts betwean the front doors and fenders.
2. Is dodge keeping the rubber seal under the front drivers, passenger doors that dose nothing but trap mud under my door and cause's the lower seam on my 06 2500 drivers door to rust.
3. Any chance of the 5.7 with a 6sp in a 1500 Ram, if not, can the 4.7 be hooked up with a 6sp?
4. The 2500 models, when, when, when?
5. Spark plugs... Same deal on the previous 5.7, champions, and brake boster in the same place?
I'm not crazy abought coils and a multi link set up for the rear suspension, I do agree it will do wounders for ride comfort and handeling, but for towing and hauling, bad idea, thier will be to much flex in the supension, now, to fix this, can aftermarket air bags be added?
I do own a 2500 Ram, so basied upon my nit picking's, a 1500 Ram is not really in the cards.
I'm happy to see that the white faced gauges are history.

Cyclone,
I think Chrysler was hoping you were the only one who would notice the sound deadning foam. Yes it is gone.
Dodge has actually added seals at the backs of the doors also.
2500 slated for 2010 unless there are more plant closers then they would need longer for retooling.
At a glance there appears to be plenty of room for air bags. Not sure though.
I myself am a 2500 megacab owner so I would rather stick with solid front axles. I actually caught a mule going out yesterday but didnt realize what it was till it was gone so i could not investigate.
