Why no 4.0 v6
I know most will not care cause they want they hemi's which is awesome but i want to know why they didn't put the much better 4.0 v6 thats in the nitro whichs makes 260hp and 265lbs instead of the underpowerd 3.7 whichs makes 215hp and 235lbs of torque dont get me wrong the 3.7 is good for smaller trucks but not the big heavy ram i mean they could of at lest added more torque because the other makes have at least 270lbs of torque but thats just my two cents:d

i'm just guessing but the 4.0L has a timing belt and it is a 60 degree v-6. i believe the 3.7L gives you more torque on in the lower rpm range do to the fact it is a 90 degree v-6. while the 4.0L has more overall torque it is not were the truck needs it? just a guess. mike
p.s. and a half ton with a timing belt?

The 3.7L makes peak torque at 3600 RPM, more than half way to redline. It's got decent grunt but doesn't wake up until about 3 grand.
It just about gets the job done in a 2WD Dakota. I couldn't imagine how gutless a new 1500 must feel with it.
The 4.0L would be much better suited, and would be a good match for the 2v 4.6L Ford is putting in the base F150's.
