2009 better interior, more options, more power.

2008 cheaper.

Ive had three Dodge Rams over the years. The reason for three is because theyre constantly getting better. I love my '09. Best Ram yet in my opinion. The ride quality is top notch, the interior on the 09 is light years above any previous models, and the 390hp aint too bad either. There are some awesome deals out on the '09s. Mine was $10k off the sticker, and many others all over the country are getting the same deals.

Bottom line, dont let anyone tell you what to get. You need to decide what YOU want. Go test drive a Ford, Chevy, Nissan, and Yota. I did, and still came back to the Ram. Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy! If you get a Ram, be sure to post some pics, so we can all drool over it with you.

Get another $1000 off your best negotiated price. It'll make it like 2008 price levels

Negotiate a price and show your cert after you arrive at a price. The dealer loses nothing -- it's all paid for by Chrysler, so you should get another $1000 off for the dealer entering in a code.

I drove them all and I have owned several GM products, but my last three pickups have been 95, 02, and 09 Rams. I drove them all during the last 2 weeks and the 09 Dodge is light years ahead of them all. I bought a loaded sport $16K off MSRP. It was a demo with 3,500 miles. I could not pass it up.

BEST THING TO DO... get online quotes. You can do this on Edmunds.com. Just type in what you want, and they will send out your truck to surrounding dealerships. they are always cheaper than the sticker price at the dealerships. Just print out the quotes and take them to other dealerships to see if they can beat it, or at the very least match it. Every truck brand is having a hard time time moving trucks off their lots so nows the best time.

Default 2009 vs 2008 Ram truck

I went through the same debate.
Do everything mentioned here and also look at e-bay motors for a 2009. New ones there too.

I actually had a 2008 delivered to my area. While I waited on its arrival, I found a deal on a 2009 I could not pass up. 34k and change....all the options.

I have had Ford, Chevrolet, GMC and Dodge trucks. Dodge since 1998. This 2009 Dodge is a big step up in every way. To be fair the 2009's of the other models would have also been a huge step up.

Personal preference landed me in a Dodge. It is nice.

Default Take Advantage Get the 2009

You really need to spend a few extra dollars and get the 2009. It has more power with better fuel mileage (that will save you over time) and way more options. It also has a much smoother ride with the 4 link rear suspension. I love my Quad Cab Sport unit for 35K Fully loaded with everything. Nav, Leather, Sunroof and the Aluminum Wheels. No way you could get a deal like that if the market wasn't so tight.

It is a buyers market right now, take advantage. If they don't give you the price you want, just walk. I did and they called me 2 days later and agreed to the deal.

You will never see deals like this when the economy rebounds.
