Default 2009 Ram

From CNN Money
Price: $21,270 - $43,240
Fuel economy: 20 Hwy, 14 City
Deal: Up to $2,500 in total rebates
The new Dodge Ram is proof that, if Chrysler LLC can get its finances in order - and that's a major "if" - this company can build a solid product. The 2009 Ram has an interior that's as good looking as its aggressive exterior. With coil springs instead of the more usual leaf springs under the bed, it also offers a fairly precise feel behind the wheel instead of the fat-man-on-rollerskates experience you get in most big trucks.

In these desperate times, Chrysler is already dropping sizable piles of rebate cash into these trucks. If you're in the market, this one's worth a serious look.
I personally like the fat man on roller skates feel. It keeps the yuppies from buying them.

Im debating trading for an 09 if i see the right incentives. I test drove 1 and was impressed as hell. A beautiful truck both inside and out!

There's more things I like on my 08 than the 09's. Also, I'm only at 2700 miles in 9 months so I think I'll keep it for a bit.

Nothing just depreciates that fast, even in this terrible market.
Either you put lots of miles since then or you paid too much. The most I could see you lost is $3k right off the bat from paying retail to trade-in value and then another $3K for the market and the fact you bought yours when the 08's were out and now the 09's are out. Gas prices are very low and at their lowest in a few years. The trucks aren't doing that bad at the auctions considering.

Shoot! I hope it's better for trucks now that gas is $1.60 a gallon as opposed to $4.30! When diesel hit close to $6.00 a gallon here, the dealers were falling all over themselves offering DEEP discounts on CTDs, first time I've seen it, ever! Usually here in Florida and for the 14 years I lived in Ga. you got the sticker price, then a separate dealer sticker with a line item of + $2500.00 called "adjusted market value", and they'd not budge off it.
I figured for sh*ts & giggles, I'd see what they'd do on my '04 with about $8k in mods on a $47,000 CTD they had advertised for $31,995.
When they got done looking over my truck and telling me what fantastic shape it was in and what low miles & how fast they could turn it around because of it being "eye candy" they offered me $8800 for it! Hell, Kelly Blue Book at the time on a bone stock '04 Hemi 4x4 QC Laramie was $14,000!!!! How's that for depreciation. Couldn't get better than $5k UNDER book for a stock truck with $8k in mods. Hell, they even insisted I leave the winch on or they'd not be able to give me $8800!!!
Needless to say, I'm still driving my '04 with 39k miles on it and will be for some time to come I'd imagine...

I will be in the market in the next year or so. Just depends when I pull the trigger. Will be either a Challenger or Ram. I will have a winter vechicle to drive next winter so whatever I get will be babied.

I am curious to see if the hybrid comes out next year like planned.

Also, given I will have a winter beater that puts the R/T into play, if they ever get it rolling.

I did the same thing with my 01 Cummins with 60k on it. The dealer drooled over it saying it looked as good as it did when it was new. Then he offered $12k for it--NADA showing over $16k.

Semigod: Theel offered 10,500 for it... I'll be in Bismarck till the 31st
