Default Buying a new 2009 ram

Hi there,

The lease on my 2006 1500 trx4 hemi quadcab is almost over and I just started looking seriously at the 2009s

The options i'm looking info /feedback on

subwoofer ? I saw the option somewhere on the dodge.ca website (im from canada) Is it any good ?

Will my 2006 truxedo cover fit on the 2009 (6.4 ft) ?

Colors : my current truck is black, I dont like the new colors , but I would like to change, so maybe I will get a white one. SHould look pretty cool, like in the ramchallenge video, does anybody have pictures of the 2009 in white ?

Do anybody have picture of a SLT interior with the center console ? Is it the same as the sport version with a floor shifter ? . I use mine a lot, (cell phone, maps, sunglasses)

Also is there a good source for more 2009 pictures ? I cant seem to find much info. And the dealers only keep 1 or 2 in inventory,

I made a short list of the stuff I want

Dual Exhaust
class IV hitch
Center Console
Fog Lights
4x4
Locking Tailgate (stupid tailgate thiefs ...)
Power windows
Block Heater
Electric rear window
tow hooks in front bumper (maybe)

The laramie is out of the question, I cant stand the 2 tone paint job . the sport model in canada has the painted grill, which I dont like, but I could always replace it I guess.

thanks

If you get the Sport, I'm sure there are quite a few American owners that would gladly trade you for your color matched grill.

imo, best place for pics (real world pics) is ebay. i look there all the time at the "2009 1500 dodge ram" pics to help me understand what i want mine optioned like.

i have yet to actually see a painted grille on a sport model. i have been to about 6 dealers and all on ebay...every sport has the chrome grille.

Hey Kneedragger,
I would suggest that if you get 20 inch wheels that you get the 3.92 rear end. I ended up with the 3.55 because that was what was on the demo that I got a good deal on. I saw several including 4x4 that had the stock 3.21 with 20s and you don't want that. It is gear way too tall. Even with 3.92, it is still turning less than 2000rpm at 70mph. There are several trucks out there that will fit your order. Try to pay $10-$12K back of sticker and you will be in the ballpark.

You can't get the center console in the SLT. That's what I liked the most so I went and bought a black Laramie. The inside is freaking awesome.

Scotty,
I am not sure where you were looking, but here in TX, you can get the center shift by the hundreds in the SLT. They are in more than half of the trucks that I looked at and the Laramie was out for me because I hate leather.

My SLT came with a center console....... You can build them that way on www.dodge.com , I agree though the laramie is awesome. Wish I could have afforded the extra money for a Laramie

20" sub woofer is an alpine hits where it supposed to, the only thing holding the system back from peak preformance is the deck.

you can custom build an SLT with a floor shifter but it doesnt come standard. Go to your dealer and request a brochure book it has all of the options and colors listed side by side and all of the accesories are shown unlike on the website. Also its to late for custom builds you will haft to look around to what is already been made.

thanks for the input

Ebay is a great place for pictures, that's really a big help

The laramie interior is beautiful. I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze that extra in the budget, but we will see.
