How do I remove speakers?
Hi guys,
I'm a new 2009 Dodge Ram owner and I love my new truck! But like most gearheads, I just can't leave it unmolested. Specifically, I really like the RES radio (first time with Sirius, I really love it!), but it needs an amp & speakers. I'm going to start with the speakers, and then add an amp to the stock radio later. By the way, I have an SLT crew cab; 4.7L. Geez she's big inside!
Can anyone tell me how to replace the door and dash speakers? Can't seem to find any reference anywhere. (I did search the threads, too.) I can't even find a service manual for this truck yet, it is so new.
It looks to me like the grilles come right off the door, and perhaps the speakers can be removed without pulling off the door panel. Hope I'm right. I don't want to screw up my new door panels.
Similar question on the dash speakers; do I have to remove that entire trim piece that goes completely across the dash? Does it just pop out or are there screws hiding somewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated; I'd like to tackle this job this coming weekend if at all possible.
Thanks,
Mitch
