Default Hi, First time Dodge owner

Hello, I've been a ford man for the last 15 years and this weekend I decided to look at trucks. I had every intention of checking out both Dodge and Ford...but I never made it to the Ford Dealership. The Dodge dealer made me an exceptional Deal on a 2009 Dodge Ram Crew 4x4 Laramie (Deep water blue pearl). The truck looks great, rides great and has way more power than my 2002 F150 4x4 Supercrew (5.4L). I've never had any complaints with my fords over the years other than a crappy underpowered Ranger I had in 93. If this Dodge gives me at least as much reliability and performance as my fords, I will be extremely happy.

Congrats on the purchase. The Laramie's are where the biggest deals are right now. Not to mention they have all the bells and whistles. Enjoy the power that HEMI gives you!

Welcome to the Mopar family! If you had gone to the Ford dealer to drive the new 09 F150, you would have been very disappointed. My friend owns a large Ford dealership and I really wanted to buy the new Ford. It was just another truck and very inferior to the Ram.

This is my third Dodge truck in a row, (95, 02, 09) They are much more durable than Ford. Your truck will be a quite and tight 6 years from now as it is today. There is no Ford that can claim that. I put over 100K miles on each of my other Dodge trucks and they never gave me any trouble. My 02 Quad was the best vehicle that I have ever owned.

Default Thanks Guys

And yes, I have the 5.7 Hemi. I'm thinking my first mod will be a hard top bed cover. In the past I have always had soft tops but there has never really been any security feature with a soft top. I have not had a chance to check into hard tops yet, but does anyone have any recommendations on a brand that looks good with the 09 RAM?

I saw a red 09 ram on the show room today, and it had the hard MOPAR brand cover. IMO I thought it looked really good on that R/T Model....

You actually saw an R/T model? I haven't seen one on any of the lots up here. Those things are bada$$. They have 4.10 gears and a different torque converter in them. Motor Trend got one to do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds! You can only get them in regular cab 2wd models though.
