Default gas milage 09 sport crew

On the milage , I was wondering what a K&N air filter would do, and some sort of cold air intake?
I f this would increase milage?

In theory they are supposed to help. Some on here have posted about the XDi intake and it improving their gas mileage.

After doing some research tonight I would consider other air filters besides K&N (or oiled gauze filters in general). I will make a post showing a couple of interesting things about this tomorrow, but for now I need some sleep...lol.

Omg. I wanted one but now I dont. It cuts off at 105mph? My old ragged P.O.S 2500 will do 125mph easy. I guess the governor was taken off.

I have been watching the official MPG thread, but there are not many posted in there.

I have driven the truck twice, LOVE IT. Power is there, comfort is beyond that of my avalanche, and the styling is awesome! I'd be using this as a daily driver and on a lot of HIGHWAY miles. My avalanche with 4.10s is currently getting 18-19 highway and 12-17 average. I know you guys will say...it's a truck don't by it for mileage. Well, I need a truck and I'd like for it to get decent mileage. I'm not asking for 30 mpg, or a 24mpg average, just asking for decent fuel economy.

My other vehicle of purchase would be a vette. I have a beater already so that's taken care of!
I have an 09 Crew cab w/ hemi & 3.55 gears. It has about 1300 miles on it.
My driving is 50/50 city/hwy, but due to Houston traffic some of the highway driving is stop and go.
So far the best I have averaged is a little less than 15. That is actually calculated, not just believing the truck readout.
I havent been able to measure my highway only mileage yet, but the dash readout will go over 20 when I drive with a light foot.
For comparison, my last truck averaged about 15.5 under the same conditions.
It was a 2000 Chevy extended cab, 4X4, 5.3 engine and auto trans w/ 3.73 gears and 33" tires.

You name the place. There is no way on god's green earth that it would even come close to 125mph. You are just about retarted as this useless post I am posting.

If you look in the 3rd gen section on the mpg threads, the 3.92's get the same or better than the 3.55's. The guys that have changed to 4.56 gears report better in town mileage and the same hwy mileage under 70 mph.

I have found Dodge rates them 13/18 on the 3.55 and 14/20 on the 3.92's. This is crew 4x4. I have not purchaced yet but have noticed this in my search. I have the same problem. I need a truck also but commute 80 miles a day hyw and about 20 a day city. I do not need this much truck and looking at the Ridgeline as well for it would work for what I need to tow on the weekends but the ave mpg they get is around 17 to 18. I am pretty sure the Ram will be just like my 5.7 Toyota. It ave 15.5 and that was it. Its just the new 09 Ram rides so good. It also looks great. Right now cannot get a good enough deal on either truck.
