Default Destination Till Empty

For those than own the truck, does the DTE say "low fuel" when it gets around 30 miles till empty like my 07 or does it state the miles down to zero?

I really hope it will display miles till empty all the way down to zero!

Mine reads DTE until it gets to 30 miles then it just shows the low on gas pump symbol.

Thanks for the replies!

Not what I wanted to hear! They must have been sued because somebody ran out of gas when it said they had some miles left.

Our old Durango use to go all the way down to zero.

I'm just curious. Why would you want to run your truck this low on fuel? Anytime the fuel level get's this low, the fuel pump is no longer cooled by the fuel which shortens the life of the fuel pump.

i thought mine said 35 miles. i was also cruising at 65 mph. maybe it calculates depending on what the gas mileage thing says.

as long as fuel is still moving through the pump it is being cooled. so if the truck is still running the pump will stay cool.

We've all done it... driving and saying, I need to get gas on the way home from work or what ever... then you jump in your truck, start driving and eventually look down and say oh yea, I needed gas!

Then I would like to know if I have 23 miles or 2 till I run out.
