Default Question on resetting the mpg computer

On my 99 QC when I would fill up and reset the avg mpg it would go back to 0. I have not been able to get the 09 to do this. When I reset, it will flash then return to the last mpg reading it had. Is this the way it works for everyone? Or has anyone been able to get this back to 0 mpg? It still seems to work OK, just wondering why Dodge wouldn't want it to go back to 0. Thanks, Jeff.

From the owners manual, "
EVIC Average Fuel Economy
Shows the average fuel economy since the last reset.
When the fuel economy is reset, the display will read
“RESET” or show dashes for two seconds. Then, the
history information will be erased and the averaging will
continue from the last fuel average reading before the reset"

Mine does the same as yours and it looks like that is the way the program is set up.
The way I look at it, if I reset when I fill up, it tracks the average mpg for that tank.
