I didn't get the lifetime, but got the Max Care 7/70,000 warranty with my truck. They offered employee pricing on that as well, on top of dropping the price even further. Max Care is the best you can get from my understanding because it's directly from Chrysler, so if you have that with the lifetime, you should be good to go. Unless Chrysler folds that is, then who knows what would happen. Hopefully we would get some sort of refund.

I purchased the lifetime warranty on mine. It was priced right and I figured it was a good insurance policy since I plan on keeping this truck for a while. The peace of mind of knowing that practically everything is covered is comforting, especially on a first model year vehicle.

Dodge comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty. I have never heard of a lifetime extended warranty option?

I have it written into my sales agreement that I can buy an extended warranty at $100 over cost. Truck is on order and I have not seen the pricing yet for the warranty.

I use to manage the claims call center for Ford Motor extended warranty program so I'm pretty informed about these.

The top of the line plan is the way to go. I reefer to them as exclusionary plans, which means everything on the vehicle is covered except for the items listed as excluded/not covered. Other plans have to specifically list the part as covered for the claim to be approved.

Its called max care lifetime and does have a deductable, 100/50/0 as to how much you pay, the 100 deduct is like 2000.00 . Covers like 8,000 items as one service advisor said " if it has a wire or mechcanical to it ,its covered

No pads, shoes items that wear out ?

there is a lifetime max care service contract that you can buy. i know you have the choice of buying the contract w/ 100 or 0 deduct, heard a few times of a 50 deduct. your deductable amount obviously determines the price of the contract. i got the lifetime max w/ 100 deduct at my employee price (WELL worth it).

as a chysler/dodge technician, i can say that max care is the way to go, trust me. especially if you can be gaurentied a good deal on one. ive given so many many repair quotes that have been a few thousand dollars. those certain repairs wouldve been under warranty if they had a contract. at minimum, i recommend NO LESS than the extended powertrain. granted, the new vehicles have it for life, but not on diesels or SRT's. if you have an older vehicle (down to 06 i believe) and are still under your basic 3/36, you should still be able to buy a contract.

WARRANTY COVERAGES
powertrain: engine, trans, axles, driveshafts & u-joints, and i believe engine sensors/solenoids (EGR, AMP, CKP...). hard to remember that last one, as i am pretty much bumper to bumper tech, and my memory sucks.

max care: covers everything except wearable items. wearable items are brake pads, belts, manual trans clutch, lights, leather, carpet, glass, paint... one issue ive dealt w/ a few times is collateral damage. I.E.: a pulley fails (warranty) and takes out the serp belt (no warranty). the belt should theoreticly be covered, since it was damaged by a warrantyablr part. my boss wont do it (no *****). someone else might have better luck at their dealer.
or a caliper fails and severely takes out a pad and maybe rotor, when the rest of them are ok.

hope this clears up any confusion, and helps anyone thinking about getting a service contract.
