You have 3 options:

1. Purchase an aftermarket screen and add the backup camera ($400 - 1000 for the unit).

2. Purchase a MyGig on eBay ($400 - 600).

3. Have a screen installed into your visor like I did on my '07 and flip it down when you need to see behind you. ($150 - 250 for the screen).

3 would be neat to have!

But I am wanting a screen in the truck for gps and etc I guess you can say.

What would be better option 1 or 2 you think? 2 might be easier friendly on the install since dodge makes it.

Both should have the same capabilies. option 2 seems cheaper as you quoted. lol hmmm so I am look at about $800 for the screen and backup camera.

Have you received the parts and done the retrofit now? How did everything go?

My father just picked up a 2009 RAM 1500 4x4 Crew with a November '08 build date and wants a locking tailgate. Some dealers say "can't do it" and others say there is a bulletin but that his truck doesn't qualify. Seems like your route with individual part numbers should work, but I'm just looking for verification.

I ran the numbers by the Parts Department and here's what they translate into:

68044904AB - Handle
68044867AB - Control Unit
68049237AA - Link
4589709AB - Cylinder

Thanks.

Has anyone else done this that could verify its success? The factory parts mod, that is.

Thanks.

Local dealer (in Canada), parts are $123.92 and they'll install it for $66.

Happy with the product so far? When you say power deadbolt, it's just locking the handle itself from being raised. It doesn't add any linkages to the outside latches, right...?
