Change the torque converter. It made a BIG difference in the R/T. That and gears will give you the most bang for your buck.

alright guys. Did another video and had it reved at 1200rpm at take off. Had a little tire spin, but I now estmate low 7's on a good take off. Once you get to 40 through 55mph it runs like a slow dog, but say if you were on the highway or a strech of road cruising and punch it at 45mph it pulls like a rape ape! Maybe it is how the computer controls it? I have no clue.

I will most likely hold out a little longer to see what is to come.

I want to thank you for the help and hopefully I will get this thing running even better!

Wait for a true CAI to come out and then get that.

Also, wait for a programmer. Superchips or Edge should work fine and will help cut some time off the 0-60 and will give you better shift points.

Also, go have a shop redo the exhaust. It will cost less than any of the kits out now.

Once you've done intake, exhaust and a programmer than you'll cut anywhere from 1 - 1.5 seconds off of the 0-60 time. I had my '07 running 6.0 0-60s (according to the built-in 0-60 timer in the Edge programmer).

Question 1 : did you disable the esp?

Question 2 : did you set your shifter to 5th gear and disable the mds?

because I can do alot better than that with this done the shift points do suck but superchips has our backs in a few months and that 105 whiplash from the governer will soon be gone.

Also at a dead stop using city blocks as a scale with 3 houses<2 corner houses and 1 in middle> before the next street 1.5 city blocks from a dead stop and your at 90 so it cant be a 7 - 8 second 0- 60 cause that was my last 06 ram stock<counting city blocks doesnt mean actual city blocks it means the same measurement on a rural road but just to give you a general idea because I would still be picking brick and mortar out of the grill>

1st question- No I did not. Does it matter? lol I assume that is the button where the tow haul is and everything else?

2nd- No just left it in drive, why does that matter? MDS shoudn't work at full throttle am I right? Wouldn't putting it in 5th gear it will start in 5th gear and not first? confused..... lol

Yeah there is a good jerk at 105mph lol it saysss stop!! What do you guys think it will do without the limiter? 115mph to 120mph?

Thanks for the help guys!!

First with the esp still on the computer is controlling your brakes and power delivered to the wheels to keep them from spinning etc. Turn of your esp and youve got full power to your rear wheels and sick burnouts.

Ers - Electronic range Select its not really a standard shifter your just controlling what gear your tranny goes to you set it to 5 because your shifting isnt going to be as fast as the computer, true the mds is not on at wop but it does slow your acceleration a whole lot more than with it off trust me Ive pissed off a whole bunch of chevy's and mustangs and tundras and im running stock..............

Many will tell you your not going to get alot of speed out of a truck but in an 06 ram with a K&n CAI, flowmaster duals and a superchip programmer got me up to 140 the max that it allowed you to set even tough it rattled like a 90 model corvette.

So just imagine an 06 vs your new 09 ram with a redesighned manifold, drivetrain, and more horsepower is going to do unless superchips limits you to 140 in this one too which it varies from programmer applications.

1. I don't know what tires y'all are running and what they're rated at, but chances are they're not rated up to 140 mph speeds since these are truck tires. You're really risking it there. That and you don't have a lot of control at 140 mph with 6,000 lbs barreling down the road.

2. If you slam on the gas pedal the MDS is not slowing down your acceleration. That's not how it works. You will accelerate at the same speed.

3. The 2009 Dodge Ram Crew SLT has been tested by Edmunds, Car & Driver and others and they're all reporting a 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds. (I believe a 3rd gen 2wd was in the high 8's stock? I know the 4wd was 9.1 sec). I wouldn't go racing many Tundras or Lightnings if you're stock. I had my '07 down to 6.0 according to the Edge Programmer with some simple mods, so I can only assume we can get these down to under 6.0 with a CAI, exhaust and programmer.

4. MinatorHemi8, I'm curious as to how you're going 90 after 1.5 city blocks? A city block is 1/16 or 1/8th of a mile, depending on where you live. The 2009 Ram does the 1/4 mile in 15.6 seconds and during that time/distance it only gets up to 87.7 mph.

I talked a Diablo rep. I have two of their programmers
Told me the 2009 dodge was a completly different animal..we know that.
ECM being a huge influence on tranny and engine...and most everything else.
Said they were working on a tuner but he would not give a date. Basically no time soon for the Predator. Same no date on the others.
All I know of for it now is cat back exhaust and intake filter assembly....no headers or intake manifolds.

I am old school. Miss the days when air, spark and fuel made it go. A thousand ways to make power in the engine. Only trick was to get it to the tires without breaking something.

If you had a 390 hp truck with 3:92 gears in the days before ecm.....!!!
I had a Chevy 454 SS in 91....with the 454 option. 230hp 385tq, 3.73 gears. Tire burner of the year.

The ecm kills the 2009's power to protect its drive train. TC on or off, its on.
