Default Bed/Box is lower on left side of '09?

The first day I brought my truck home I was admiring the rear of it and how nice the exhaust looked sticking out the back. I also noticed what I thought was the box drooping on the left side. It looked a bit lower/slanted on the left. I dismissed it as being caused by the slope of my driveway. I parked it in the garage this weekend and thought I'd take another look at it. Sure enough, in the garage it looked slanted to the left too. I pulled a tape measure out and the left side of the truck sits 1" lower than the same locations on the right. I measured it at the top step of the bumper, top of the wheel opening on the box and top of the bedside. All measure 7/8" to 1" lower on the left side. I know it's petty but, I've always thought this was ugly when driving behind other trucks with slanted boxes. 1" may not sound like much but, across such a short distance a 1" drop is noticable.

Does anyone know the cause of this type of thing?

I have the same problem, noticed it last night, an inch lower on the left hand side. Looks like the dealership will be getting another call from me today.

I 3rd take it back to the dealer.
As to what it could be...the springs.

I worked contract in a few auto assembly plants...Mercedes for one.
I have never seen the line where springs are added but I just assume its like other human lines.
One guy or gal with a crate of parts on one side, guy or gal on the other side with another crate of parts doing the same thing as the frame or body moves by on a conveyor.
Mis matched parts on either side happen. Supplier...QA laying down....?

I just bought an 09 sport. Had it shipped to me here. Got the truck and it has body color door handles on the left side. Chrome door handles on the right.??

Mine is getting fixed as soon as some other parts I ordered for it come in. 3 things to be done in one trip to the dealer.

Ok, now I'm getting worried and am going to take a tape measure and measure the bed off the ground, as well as a whole slew of other things.....

Painted handles on one side and chrome handles on the other? Sounds like the QA guy(s) was on crack.

My current vehicle (2006 Yukon Denali XL) was delivered with black interior handles on the passenger side and the proper chrome handles on the driver side. The dealer replaced the handles but both passenger doors have squeaks and rattles since they worked on it. But for the most part you can't hear the noisy doors over the squeaking dash, clunking drive shaft or popping\clicking intermediate steering shaft (which has been replaced 6 times now).

Hopefully I have better luck with Dodge than I did with the POS GMC.

Take it back. My 1980 dodge 4wd truck did this same thing. I never did figure out why but fixed it by removing the overload leaf on the drivers side. Drove it like that for many years with no problems. After I'd had my 83 ram charger for about 6 years it started to sag in the rear. I had the rear leafs re-arched and that worked great. Not sure what they can do though with a coil sping except change it out. Only thing I can think of is you got a coil spring that just wasn't made correctly. Jeff.

Just thought of something. I'm wondering if the Ram Box option has different rate springs to carry the heavier bed? If so, maybe a ram box spring got mixed in with the standard bed springs? You didn't say what truck you have but I'm sure the spring rates are set up depending on what configuration and options the truck has. Someone at the factory may have just grabbed the wrong spring when building the rear axle.
