My radio, RER with navigation and u-connect/my gig..

Thought I might share the outcome of a lockpick and iPod cable 82211853.

I also bought the AV9003MYGIG CABLE. Need that for video input.

I bought a camera with night vison license plate frame mount. Any rear camera will do. The one I got is adjustable vertically..look at your bumper or the sky.

The big deal for me was the iPod integration.
I was told by Lee Parts the dealer would have to tell the radio it has an ipod.

Plugged the iPod cable into the radio then plugged the lockpick in the iPod connection wire..stacked the connections
result: radio instantly recognized iPod and all the functions are on the soft key screen.
Now VES and iPod soft key buttons are added to my nav. screen.
Pointed the camera at my hitch. Wide view lens. Get whatever camera, I wanted i-Pod integration and this route worked.

You can do alot more...Inputs on the AV cable for video cam, baby cam, front cam, etc

I just wanted to share that cable 82211853 with Lockpick makes for a plug and play integrated iPod....in RER w/navigation radios.

Probably more but mine is all I reseached.
I also soldered my connections and put a thin zip tie around the lockpick module to make sure that connection stays tight.
I had issues before that.

as far as i know, RER and REN are the exact same, except REN doesnt have nav. so this plug'n'play should also work the same w/ REN.
