i wouldnt even worry about the indicator. Just enjoy the mpg, who cares let it do its thing. But if you really want to know install a loud muffler, youll hear it kick on

I do have a loud muffler and i can tell when it activates. It would just be another gadget on the truck and i like gadgets..

Dashhawk (pn 13100) is about $300. It displays mds along with many other functions. Plugs into the trucks obdii. I have not purchased one yet, but am thinking about it.
