I found a 2006 service manual that explains MDS. Let me do some looking.

that's funny, skimmers are always easier to find than submarines- that's why they're called targets! i've got some stories about tracking surface ships during wargames, but i don't know if i can tell them on here.

just remember, any ship can be a submarine- once...

I see you just got a sig from the same place i did.

and no, we cannot land on water, but if we can find anything that floats we will try and land on it. otherwise, we have these nice cozy one-man life rafts.

Also while driving I could never get the light to go out until I was almost stopped and rpm's went below 1000.
I am still thinking it is the right wire. I just drove mine and mine goes until 1500 rpm. Also, if I take my foot off the gas it goes out as long as I am level or going down hill. As soon as you take your foot off the gas the rpm's go down to almost idle anyway.

The MDS really doesn't come on unless you are coasting. Ask the guys with the light.

I also think at idle it only runs on four. I need to check on this though.

So the sound difference is noticeable? If 8 cylinders were a 10 on a scale of loudness, what's it in 4 cyl. mode?

have you noticed what rpms and mph the 8 to 4 or 4 to 8 switch takes place??? reviews just say light throttle for 4cyl mode!?

i'm kinda hesitant to do a exhaust setup on my 09... i had LT/straight pipe into a 2inlet/2outlet imco muffler on my 04 that sounded really good. is it safe to assume that 4 cyl mode is going to make a exhaust setup sound like crap!? maybe i'll just throw a muffler on and call it quits

The exhaust will sound fine. Many people have already done them on the 4th Gen's.
