Here are the results of Zaino... Did it Friday night/Saturday. Once again, it is a polish though. Reflections in the gate and hood scoop are awesome!

Yeah.... a lot of the vette guys live and die by Zaino. The stuff is AMAZING! Never seen a deep gloss/shine like it. I fully recommend it. But you have to do it somewhat often to keep it up if it's a daily driver.

I use the Zaino polish then a carnuba. Takes me a day to do a car right....with a porter cable.
Here is a good article.

Does not mention Zaino, but Zaino and Wolfang are the pretty much the same thing.

This one I traded in. Took this picture just before trade. 11 years old, road hard and put up wet. Most of its life outside.

You're right that Zaino is not a wax. It is a synthetic sealant but like the excellent article Blue2050 posted says, carnuba waxes last 6-8 weeks and synthetics last 6-12 months so Zaino or other synthetics are actually the best choice for cars that are in the elements.

If you decide to use Zaino, I would start with the Zaino Triplets Kit:

http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=2

Z-AIO- Zaino All In One which scrubs, emulsifies dirt and leaves a synthetic sealant on the paint, followed by Zanio Clear Seal- adds a 2nd coat of sealant and then Z-8 spray which is a quick detailer and gives the car extra shine.

Also, you would want to buy Z-7 car wash soap (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...oduct_Count=12)

And this applicator which is good for applying the Z-AIO (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...oduct_Count=21). The included applicator should be used with Clear Seal only.

I would use those first as the Z-2 Pro and Z-5 Pro sealants that have to be mixed are difficult for first time users. The concept of Z-2 Pro and Z-5 Pro is that they do not contain any grit like compound so you can keep adding layer after layer. This is not possible with a traditional sealant or wax because everytime you add a layer it rubs off the previous one.

Also if you have other questions, you may also want to ask on http://www.autopia.org/forum/. A forum like this one but for car detailers.

If Zaino wasn't so much money I would get it.

Hear was one of the first tests when I did a google.

Also, have not checked lately, but Zaino is not a polish after all, so it does provide protection beyond a polish.

It should also be noted my pics are using Zaino that I have had sitting in my garage for two years! Since it is mail order I order a decent amouont at a time. This is not the Z2 they currently have. It is the generation prior to Z2. Which means you had to apply a "lock" coat first, do not wipe off, then apply the polish on top of the lock, then remove. I do have the Z8 Grand Finale spray that I did use on the truck and will continue to use throughout the driving season, I will not apply any more polish all year. The process of removing the lock and polish is not easy, hard to wipe off. Maybe the Z2 is better in that department. I also left the lock and polish on the truck over night.

Three things: First, you're right, Zaino's polish is not polish as most people understand the term basically meaning polishing compound. It is stupid of people to call their sealants polishes because it confuses many people. If they really wanted to be clear they could even call it a synthetic wax. Second, that is an interesting wax test at ffcobra.com but it must have been done at least five years ago because Zaino doesn't even sell Z-1 anymore. Third I would not let the Zaino dry overnight because it is then really hard to wipe of the hazy excess.

The NXT Tech wax holds up quite well, I used it on my Dak late fall and the truck's been going through the automatic car wash all winter (brushless of course). It's time for another waxing but it still looks pretty shiny when it's clean, which is nearly impossible with all the crap still on the roads.
