wow never knew detailing was such an underground sensation, i've always used meguirs but i think i'll order some of that zaino stuff...Sounds fancy

 

Whether I leave it on for 20 minutes or over night it is still a pain to get off. This is only when I use the lock, which they no longer sell. When using just the polish this is not an issue. That is why I mentioned it may be different with the Z2 product. My main reason for leaving it on over night is due to a 50 degree garage which results in a while for it to set up.

Took it out yesterday to test my fix on my slipping belt... Big difference, I now have all my boost!! I can be driving along normally in 2nd and break them loose by simply nailing the gas. Personally I hope the warmer roads fixes that issue.... But for now it is cool

i have a few questions. i have never waxed a vehicle before. my 09 ram is the first new vehicle that i have owned that is worth putting the extra attention into. so here are my questions.

1. will waxing make it easier to clean? when it rains here i get a film all over my truck after driving and it is a pain in the butt to get off.

2. what would you guys recommend as a "starter" wax?

3. what supplies would i need? (applicators, cloths, etc.)

Waxing definitely makes it easier to clean. A few weeks ago, after I just got my Ram, due to the cold weather I was only able to wax the driver's side of the truck and drove it that way for a week until the next sunny day. The waxed side was noticeably cleaner and the dirt that was there was easier to remove than it was on the unwaxed side.

I would recommend Zaino All in One if you want a synthetic wax. You would also need the foam applicator, Zaino Z-7 car wash soap and Z-6 spray see my post on the previous page for links. I'm not sure about carnuba waxes because I haven't used them in a while, but I've heard good things about Collinite and Zymol and P21S, which is the last carnuba wax I used also was good.

 

What is the HP of your truck?

 

Whats the easiest stuff to use. I am disabled with a metal back. I can do some stuff in small increments and have the time. However, I will want to polish or wax all at once and be done with it. My truck has factory "clear coat". Is that standard and will that protect the vehicle? I need something that is easy to use. I could use a detailer. But how would I know that they are not using an inferior product. I have some polish. The orange bottle I think it is "New Finish" supposed to last 12 months?
