These goodyears suck
I too was quite impressed with how the stock Goodyears handled the snow during the only nasty snow storm of the year (and it was pretty nasty). I have not yet taken my truck through the mud yet, but so far I'm quite happy with these. After all the bad things I heard before I bought the truck, I was expecting to be disappointed. Anyway, to each his own...
I am going to deal with them since I am not going to drop 1000$ for another set of tires. If I had a choice I would have picked BFG All Terrains. They are good for the street but also do very well off road. I never heard anyone complain about them unless they were in some thick mud.
All terrains in general suck in mud. Usually.

Stock Goodyears, and this is as far as the truck would go. Multiple attempts, in high range, low range, ESP on, ESP off, it didn't matter, the truck just wouldn't go even in this minimal amount of snow.

Solved the problem though. Mo tread, mo better
. Haven't had the new tires in the snow yet, but did have them in the sand dunes on Saturday, and made it back out again, even with a 4000 lb trailer hooked to the truck and the truck still in two wheel drive. With the stock tires I would have been there for the duration.

35x12.50s. I have 300 miles on them so far, including 200 miles towing a trailer, 30 miles of which was on dirt roads, and a little bit in the sand dunes. I can't see anywhere where they have rubbed, or hear them rub anywhere. So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 35s fit with no lift.

I am sold on 35's. I just need to wear out these Goodyear's first.
I have had no problem on my Goodyear Wrangler AT's. I've been through mud, clay, sand, ocean water, a couple streams.... I've made it through some really nasty situations with no problems where as the people with me have a much harder time.
Almost got stuck in some really thick, loose sand but once i threw it into 4low and left the autostick in 5 i was having fun after that. It was too easy and i was trying to get it stuck.....Had to test out the truck.
