Rain drops falling on my head. Sunroof leak?
I've had a very similar problem with my 06 Ram 3500 Laramie. The sunroof doesn't always seal properly at the back leaving a gap and allowing rain water to come in. I discoved this problem Monday during a downpour here in Hampton, VA. After about 3hrs of searching I found a service bulletin explaining how to reset the sunroof which worked temporarily. It will allow the sunroof to seal correctly, but when it started raining again today i had another gap, all be it a smaller one than the one on Monday. Anyone know of any other SB's about the sun roofs. I'm 100% positive its not the drain holes I've cleared them already and I can visibly see the gap and the rear of the sunroof at the seal. Much like Nat Wynn was describing earlier in the thread. Any Help appreciated!
Well guess I'm not the only one. I just found similar leaks on my truck (2010 Laramie), except I only seem to have it in the rear seating area. All the water is accumulating at the bottom seats. Literally dripping if you flip them up
. I checked the headliner and it seems pretty dry. The back window may be a culprit, but I did discover that on the headliner, only the rear corners were soaked. More so directly where the SIRIUS Satellite antenna sits. I did see a gap in the antenna. Still nothing conclusive. I called the dealer and they seem to elude to a "known" problem w/ the 3rd brake lights in the 2010s. I'm taking her in tomorrow. We'll see.
What tops it off is, even for a warranty job for a new 40K truck I don;t get a loaner....I get new model loaners for free on my used Acura even if it was just for a $25 oil change.
I really wanna like Dodge...I mean O like the truck...but really?....not a good start...BTW, only 5100 miles...

We definitely not the sunroof. But disappointed. Left the car overnight on Friday then took till Saturday to tell me that the "Water Leak" expert is not available and would have to reschedule. Worse is the sense that they are giving me that its no big deal even though it will take another week or more to even look at it. I don't know if youv'e heard but the Eastern United Stated is forecasted for crappy weather for the next week. Definitely not the service I expected.
At least im not the only one... I hava a 09 Laramie crew cab that has been leaking through the sunroof. It first did it back in January but only a couple drips through the overhead console then never did it again until September when we had a massive downpour in texas. I finally swallowed my pride and took it in to the dealer. They checked and cleaned the drain tubes made some adjustments to the sunroof, dried out my headliner and checked it with a hose. Everything was good and they sent me on my merry way. After I left for Iraq, my fiance informs me that it leaked yet again and they replaced the sunroof seal, plus everything they did the last time. Good for another few weeks and now its back in the dealer again for the same problem, this time its getting a new headliner because the original one is now ruined. Hopefully some resolution is in the works because a $50k truck with 27000 miles should not be peeing on itself. Thank god I have a woman that will take care of things for me, I just have to hear about how much of a peice of s#!t my beloved Dodge is
I have a 2007 Laramie 2500 Megacab with the sunroof. I too had the water going out the front handles and also the rear seat, and down the back window. I don't have the clearance lights which can also be a problem.
I park at an incline in the driveway so depending which way I parked uphill or down, I had the water leak in that direction.
I also went to the dealer about the water draining arount the handles but after charging me for two hours labor he couldn't find the problem.
This weekend I tore down some of the headliner and removed the rear panels. I found that the two rear drain tubes had a higher elevation than the drain itself. I had to unhook the tube from one of the holders to get the correct drainage (you don't have to remove tha headliner to do this). Also on all of the drain ends that exit the body, I trimmed the bottom half off on the rubber folding slot drains. These things look like the garbage disposal rubber sound damper. Two are out the front doors and two can be seen about 12 behind the cab between the cab and bed.
I vacuumed and blew out the hoses there are four of them one in each corner but there was nothing in them.
After all of this it rained again so I went out to watch the water draining out the trimmed drains. I read that water is supposed to weep out these. I think that they back-up full of water then overflow inside.
My sunroof seal does allow water to pass by into the truck and now into the drains which do NOW in fact, drain!

I only had my 2011 Ram Sport 1500 4x4 less then a month when I experienced the leaking sunroof and dripping through the grab handles. Water droplets can be seen along the rear of the sunroof so THAT will need attention BUT...I checked the drain tubes. The passenger side drain tube is easily visible but when I checked on the drivers side I found NO TUBE!! Apparently the factory never installed one on the drivers side so the water was running out the spout, down the A-pillar and through the handle. I called the dealer in Anchorage and will be taking it in to have the seal looked at, the sunroof alignment checked and the tube installed.
Quick fix for me was to put an earplug into the black spout so any water has to run out the passenger drain. No more leaks into the cab/carpet for now.

Can you explain again where the rear drain tubes come out? Thanks.
