I dug a little deeper when I ordered mine.
Mopar accessories site says you need the stock key locking tailgate for theirs to work.

I got both for my peace of mind and the option..mine did not come with the locking gate. Has it now, dealer can get it.

and just for the record from autoanything

3369049 Pace Edwards PowerGate
Part # LK170
Vehicle 2009 Dodge Ram 1500
UPS Next Day Air $94.95
Subtotal $94.95
Shipping $19.38 .......I do not remember, I probably did that. It does no good.
Discount $0.00
Tax $0.00
Grand Total $114.33

took a week. Days of your order processing..I called, shipped that day.
Locking tailgate another late option or maybe standard, my uncle picked his truck up same day as mine at the dealer and his had the keyed tailgate. We did not find anything on the window stickers that would indicate it as an option. I call dealer and they did not know it was available but there is no kit to put it on yet you have to order all parts separate and well it comes to 240 bucks plus the power kit....forget it. I think if you ordered the part for a truck that actually has it you might be able to get it as one whole part, I will have to get his vin and tell them someone stole my taigate and I am painting and putting the new one together myself and see what that gets me? What is the dealer part number for the locking handle?

Atleast you got the truth. They're still giving me the run-around. Fvck autoanywhatever. I'd have paid the extra 10 bucks elsewhere to get it this spring.

Installed the Mopar tailgate lock today. Install was pretty easy and it works great. Every time I lock or unlock the doors, with the remote or the button on the door, the tailgate locks or unlocks.

Very Nice! What is the part number?

I did not know Mopar had a part that locked the tailgate with the keyless entry?

I saw it in the Mopar cat-o-log... something like $109, but you must have standard tailgate lock installed.

Mine came today. Very easy install. Seems to be some confusion but my truck does NOT have the factory tailgate lock. All I needed was the LK170 to make this work. No additional parts. just fyi.

When the solenoid is powered it simply slides a metal bar under the tailgate handle assembly, preventing it from disengaging the tailgate.

Did you have it shipped to Windsor and how much did UPS nail you at the door or do you do like me and have it held for pickup and scoot across and pick it up. I was wondering if it works like a deadbolt on a plastic handle could someone not just really lift hard and break that spot? Or would that render the tailgate inop?
I am in Windsor also, I havent' seen your truck around but I don't get out that much, my wife is always out with the truck she won't leave it for me ever besides I have to get the hand controls installed.
