Talking Anybody else lose out on 0% financing?

Been in love with the Rams since the '94s came out. Now, 15 years later, I finally have it! With only about 100,000 orders in the U.S. right now (down from 400,000 normally), it took about 1.5 months to arrive.

So far, I'm loving it. The ride is second to none and the thing looks beautiful in the sun. The uConnect GPS is freakin' SWEET and sounds even better. But, there's a few things I wanted to throw out there:

Luckily, I got in before the sales tax increase here in CA, but I was told that the 0% financing was off due to the bailout, even though it was in the agreement I signed when I ordered it. I haven't seen anything about this online, so I'm wondering if it was just a last second screw-over by the dealer, or if corporate did in fact cut off all deals. Anybody have that happen? They gave me an awesome rate (2.9%), but something smells fishy here...

Thanks!

Dodge website shows 0% for 48 months for April. Was 0% for 36 months in March.

I ordered my truck in February with 0% 48 months, picked it up March 16th and still received the 48 0% deal.

I would look into it much further and if you have it on the order/purchase agreement, I would make them re-write it!

Ordered in March and hoped for 0% at 36 months. My salesman just notified me that it will now be 0% for 48 months. Something sounds fishy for your deal.

Don't let them get away with it. You signed for 0% and they need to honor it.

If you signed, I think you're screwed. California has a "no cooling off" period which means as soon as you sign and drive off you have agreed to everything you signed.

I almost got screwed with my extended warranty - The dealer told me if I bought it when I bought my truck I could get the "good-guy" price of $2955 for the lifetime $100 deductable warranty. I told them that I've got a year or 12000 miles to make that decision, right? Well, they told me if I didn't get it now the price would be $4800. After having the truck for a week I went online and checked for discount Chrysler warranties and found a dealership in Montana that was offering the same warranty for $1850, plus if I purchased it before the end of March they's take another $180 off. So the same warranty was only $1670. They cancelled my old warranty and within a week I had a check from Chrysler for the $2955.

It pays to be informed when you shop then you can call their bluff. But in your case, I don't know how to get out of that contract unless you can prove it was misrepresented. Maybe call the general manager of your dealership and ask him why you didn't get 0% when it clearly states on the Dodge website that it is being offered. If that doesn't get you anywhere call Chrysler's regional office and voice your complaint.

Good luck!

I feel I got screwed on the financing, only because I wanted 0% and last week, all that was available was 36 months 0%. So I got that. Now in Abril, its at 48 months 0%. Oh whales! I would of saved $180 a month, but added another year. Paying this bad boy off in 3 years is a good thing though.

Not a huge deal, but I would have preferred the 48 over the 36.

Thanks for the responses! The purchase did not play out like I wanted it to. I planned ahead for months (running the numbers, reading stories about how dealers try and screw you, etc...)

I didn't have the cash on hand to cover all of the down payment when I ordered it. The dealer said it was no big deal - put down what I could now, and then bring the rest when I came to pick up the truck and update the contract.

On one hand, I should have put my foot down and made him honor it. But the fact is, I wasn't prepared and had to resort to some paperwork voodoo to get the truck ordered, and I did sign the new contract with no cooling off period. Live and learn I guess.

Just always beware and don't let them pull any fast ones on ya!

Thanks for the update. 2.9% is a good rate, nothing to be ashamed of. But they should up been on the up and up with you.

What where you able to get off MSRP? Maybe thats the bright spot.

Have you looked over all the other paperwork? Did they add any unnecessary charges to it?

The 0% financing is still on. I think you should talk to the dealer or have one of your friends help you especially if you know someone that is a lawyer, acts like one or plays one on tv, etc... The difference between 0% and 2.9% will cost you between 2-3 thousand dollars over the life of the loan.
