Front Differential
Im waiting on my Silver '09 Laramie, 20 inchers and a 3.55 rear. I realize that the 3.55 is an open axle rear end so when in 4 wheel are both the front wheels locked? Is the gearing the same in the front as in the rear? I am trying to convince myself that my 3.55 will do me right and I will not be sorry that I did not opt for the posi rear end.
there is NO posi rear end just a LSD and the front will only have 1 wheel as well.
you could always put a locker in the front though.
and i have the 3.55, they suck. im going to chance the the 3.92

what did you do with your old 3.92 front/rearends? would you be interested in selling if you still have them? if so, how much?
going to 4.10's, did you have to change your carriers out also ??
thanks

I've always heard that two ratio levels are fine. I went from 3.55 to 4.10 in my f150 and did not need a new carrier. Any lower, and I would have. 3.92 to 4.10 shouldn't be a problem in that regard.
To OP, if you put your truck, with 3.55's, in four wheel drive you will essentially have on wheel in back and one wheel up front putting power to the ground.
You make it sound like the LSD is not a good unit. It works fine so far for me. Maybe I am just reading your statement the wrong way.
