Alarm / Keyless entry
I wanted to get clarification,
The key less entry on the ram, is this a alarm of any sort. I was told by the dealership, Lock your doors with the keyfob, wait about 5 minutes, eject the key from the keyfob, unlock your door and when you open the door the alarm should sound.... No such luck... I can open the door and even start my truck with the keyfob, even when the key is ejected from the keyfob itself
Any GM techs or savy people that can explain this system, and the security features.

On my '97 dakota the dome light comes on when you unlock the door with the key. This disables the alarm when the light comes on. This alows you to still get into the truck without the FOB. Try leaving your window down. Then reach in and open the door. I bet the alarm goes off.

It sounds like you only have the key-less entry. To be sure, I would check your invoice/window sticker for the security option. My wife's Honda has the factory security option (no shock sensor) and the only way to trigger it is by opening the door without using the remote or key. Try this 1.) Roll down the drivers side window, 2.) Lock the vehicle using the remote, 3.) wait about 30 seconds and unlock the door manually (no key) through the open window. If nothing happens, then no security system. I am not sure if the Mopar security option has a shock sensor. I took some advise from other forum members and found a reputable alarm shop in my area. I purchased a OEM upgrade security system called Auto mate AM1 made by DEI. I was mis-informed by another nation wide electronic store that the modules/adapters for the 09 Ram were not out yet and it would be too difficult to hard wire the alarm so the key-less entry and starter disable would work. Not true!! The shop I went to installed the Auto mate and best of all it works with the factory key-less entry (I did not want two sets of remotes and I did not need the remote start feature). The alarm has a shock sensor, flashing lights, and starter disable. I had the shop add an extra shock sensor in rear tail light to protect the bed area. I also added two extra LED's, for a total of three. One on either side of the front doors and the last one inside the third brake light on the roof. Lastly I upgraded the siren to a full size unit like the ones used on emergency vehicles. I wanted something I can hear inside my house (heavy sleeper) and something that would scare the crap out of any crooks. Only set me back $375.00 (automate w/extra parts & labor)vs $499.00 (Viper plus extra modules & custom labor etc.)

That sounds great, few things.
I guess A) There is NO option from mopar for a after the fact security module for the ram
B) My truck does not have the security feature, i put the window down, set the alarm, and with my arm through the window pulled the lock up and opened the door, this would simulate a thief popping the lock with a jimmy bar.
Any website for your alarm that has recommended installers.

The point of the key inside the fob is for valet purposes only. You give the fob to the valet, but can still have access your Ram while parked... That's what I got from the owner's manual description.
and if the battery in your fob goes dead... according to my dealer.

I found my alarm shop through the yellow pages, not too many shops around my area anyway. I imagine that you can go to the DEI web site (or other brand you prefer) and see if they have a dealer search link. The owner of the shop I selected, had the OEM upgrade on his personal vehicle and he was kind enough to give me a demo. So if you find a shop, ask if they have a demo car. Kicking the tires in real life gives you a much better idea of what you are going to buy vs reading a brochure.

if the keyfob battery dies, but then what are the chances of both dying? As a valet key????If you have the alarm if you do not unlock the door from inside the vehicle or with the keyfob the alarm will go off when you open a door. That has been my experience so far.
