Mud sucks Comf0rt! I hate going wheeling in the mud as well. This is a picture of my Jeep taken just 10 miles into what was 150 miles of offroad travel that day. By the end of the day the entire Jeep looked like the front side of the rear fender flares. It looked like the entire Jeep had been dipped in chocolate. We had to refill the windshield washer bottle three times from our water jug, just to be able to see where we were going to finish the trip. That was 4 months ago, and thus far I have spent $30 at the car wash trying to get the mud off. At least eight trips to the car wash, and I still haven't got it all off. Items like skid plates under the Jeep still have an inch of dryed on mud on top of them. The wheels are going to need rebalanced as well, because the mud stuck to the balance weights and pulled them off.

Good luck getting all the mud off, it takes patience, lots of pressure washing, and lots of time.

Oh, here's a picture at the end of the day. We had drove though some deep standing water for half a mile to try and wash off the thickest mud before getting back on the highway, but it still looked pretty bad.

One other thing about mud. If you are unlucky enough to get into what I call "acid mud", and you let it stay on your paint overnight, it will permanently etch the paint. And once the paint is etched by the mud there isn't a thing you can do about it, because even power buffing will not restore the finish. Did I mention that I hate mud.

This is getting a little off topic (ok, a lot) but you might want to look into using either dynabeads (ceramic) or airsoft pellets inside the tires. Then you don't have to worry about the wheel weights.

I run dyna beads in the 35's on my jeep because my rock rings don't allow conventional weights.

And as for the mud, the mud on the iron range in MN is some of that etching mud. Your tires and paint are never the same afterwards. The mud is red and iron rich, turns the tires blue and stains the paint red.
