Default How do you adjust the fogs and the high beams??

Hey guys,

I've checked the manual and it doesn't say anything about it. I'm going to buy some HID's for the foglights and I want to be able to adjust them if they're too high. I checked out the pattern for the high's and I didn't like the fact they were the same height as the lows... I need them to be adjusted a bit higher so I can actually see further ahead the road. Thanks for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Did I get you right, you want the fog lights to be adjusted higher? You might be blinding the upcoming traffic this way. People won't like that and besides you may be pulled over and get a ticket.

If I were you (when I go with HIDs) on my 09 and I will do that. I would go with hi and low beams and fogs. BUT I would try to do my BEST to make sure they are as close to the factory settings as possible.
But your question is good, how do you adjust them?
BTW which HIDs are you planning to get?

Thanks

As far as I know, there is not a seperate adjustment for the high vs low beams on the headlights. The whole assembly can be adjusted though.

For the fog lamps, there should be a small thrumb wheel on the back side of the fog lights that allows it to be adjusted.

I hope this helps, but if you have more questions or need more help, let me know.

Pharmd is correct. You can adjust the low/highs together. The fogs had a thumb wheel behind them. It's white in color. If your looking for the high/low adjustment start on the passenger side fender. Look for the arrow stamped in the metal pointing to a hole. Look in the hole thats the adjustment screw.

I just did HID's in my truck, 6000k for low and fogs. The fogs have a 50 watt ballast the lows I went with the standard 35 watt ballast. I went with this company from another form. The set comes plug and play. http://shop.3bspecialties.com/main.sc

Since you have the truck apart I would suggest putting the sylvania ultra white headlight bulbs in the highs.

Sweet... Thanks for the help guys.

So basically, I can't adjust the high's without adjusting the lows proportionately? That sucks!! The high's don't shine ANY higher than the lows...

Indiana, Have you been flashed by a lot of people?? I'm worried about the glare. I was going to retrofit some projectors but it's $$$$$$. How's the cut off line on your lows? Do you have a pic of them against a wall and also alongside a wall?

No, I haven't been flashed at all. The fogs have a 50 watt ballast. They are bright but hit the pavement 5 feet in front of the truck. The lows are 35 watt, they are bright. There is no doubt if I have 50 watt ballast in the lows I would get flashed. If you are thinking about hid's send me a pm and I'll send you some pics of my truck and tell you where I purchased the kits. I'm very happy with hid's.
