And where would you suggest getting a "good custom tune"?
Oh and my 08 used to do that. I was kind of put off by it, but got used to it because I always had the power when I needed it.

I remember it being an rrt-tsb whatever on the early builds. Spark knock/rough idle. Fixed by reflashing the pcm with new software. Supposed to correct the idle by setting it to 600 rpms. This is all if memory serves me correctly.

http://bgspecialists.com/index.html

This is the only place I have found that specializes in DCX (Daimler Chrysler Corp.) custom computer tunes that is recognized by other Dodge enthusiasts. This is new to me being a GM guy in the past and this is my first Mopar vehicle.

I haven't called them yet to see what they can do on the 09 Rams or even if they've been able to hack into the new computer system. Do they give you a reflashed computer or do you have to send your ECM in? I do see if you have a DiabloSport handheld unit they will download their progam in it for you.

That my friend is where you can get a custom tune.

This is interesting...

One thing I noticed on the Ram I test drove was the idle speed, it was aroud 500 (if I can trust the RPMs on the dash). I thought it seemed low, but did run smooth.

This truck was NEW. The dealer just got it a little over a week ago. It did not come from another dealer. I suppose it could have been sitting in a lot at the plant for a while though.

My truck was built in 10/08 and sat until 3/02 (I've got water spots to prove it), so it was an early build. Maybe there has been an upgraded program change in the later builds. I did take my truck in for a recurring check engine light and 4 Rapid Response items came up, maybe one of them is for the rough creeping.

Mine is a 12/08 build and I bought it on 3-23-09. Mine does not do it. I do not know if it is because mine was built during the magic month of 12/08 or not. I will check the rpm tomorrow when and repost.
